Some of my Norton's............My Dunstalls (Documented bike, 810 kit on the shelf for preservation, red 750 documented as well) 1970 PR, My Mk3's and some of my 750s.

That's a lot of good looking bikes, even the chopper. No wonder Nortons are so hard to come by

Thought you might like to see an image or two of my '68 Commando. I bought the bike as essentially a wreck. It had been run low on oil and broke a piston, which then broke a con rod. It was in horrible shape, and terribly molested. But was all matching numbers on frame, engine, gearbox and still had the complete toolkit and tire pump. Go figure huh?

So, seeing the potential in an otherwise complete and original bike (and having an understanding wife) I took on the restoration and this is the result.

Full race 850 Commando motor in JS monoshock frame designed in the late 1980s (presently owned by Ken Canaga). Perfect handling - I could lean it until it would slide and skitter and just hold it there through the turns. Someone should be racing one of these or freaking people out on the street.

That's a crazy front disc! The M/C looks stock; how about the caliper?

Back then they only had 2 piston calipers. I think it was a Brembo caliper. The disc was huge and the caliper had to be removed before removing the wheel. Twin discs are better and twin discs were installed later by Ken Canaga.

Wow, some of these bikes look the business. I'm new to Nortons and it was a steep learning curve restoring this 72 commando with 71 engine. Learning about off sets and setting isolastics is all new to a Triumph man. I absolutely love the look of the Corbin seat but understand they don't make it for the Interstate tank. Anyway I decided to design my own using an old Interstate seat base with chopped foam and a redesigned cover.

I think it's worked quite well, love to gauge opinions of you hardened Norton fans. Cheers, Nick.

That's right where I'd like mine to end up. However, since I like the sound of the Dunstalls so well and am too cheap to buy new header pipes, they'll stay.
Very nice looking machine!
