I advise you not to proceed with your plans. It will become a money pit and a PITA. When its finished, you'll spend the rest of your life defending it against those telling you the frame in inferior to a featherbed. And / or Commando. And that you should have rubber mounted it, and, etc.

Save yourself from all of this and have a happier life.

I'll help by taking it off your hands. No seriously, sell it to me instead...!

I wish I hadn't started it looking at the price of racing parts for the engine ! iv finished the frame and black bits already (the joy of having a blasting cabinet at work )2pack black oven backed with the swing arm ends hard chromed where the chain adjusters go. just turning up some titanium for the spindles etc,i had to laff at the steering stem some nutter had used 10mm threaded bar ! Anyway any advise on mild engine tuning , crank balance to suit frame ,in fact any info on vendettas ie how many were made ,when? etc would be very appreciated .Can anyone id the forks and callipers ?

What seat is that? I've been debating making a change from the stock roadster seat on my '71 and was planning on going the Corbin route but I'm liking the look of this as well. Bike looks great by the way :D

Why would someone do that? It's a Yamaha; call it what it is!

My guess: he got a good deal on a pre-painted tank from e-bay.

no the e bay ad is from legendary motorcycles. he makes tanks and seats along with the gps speedo's.

BritCycle stock it as "513-12/A New Style Norton Commando Racing Seat". I've just bought one and eagerly await delivery (it's been in transit longer inside Aus than it's taken to get from America!)

Thanks for that. It just caught me off guard to see the juxtaposition of the Norton emblem on the Yamy.

So the Yamaha is simply a temporary display stand for Norton parts.

No foul. Unlike "Triton" stickers on a modern Hinckley Triumph with clip-ons installed.

Was out for a ride about a week ago. Weather is mild for the time of year, with a bit of luck I´ll be able to go for another ride this weekend. The season is coming to an end.

Trying to build to original condition. That is to say as many good used parts as possible.
Anyone know of a good source for used parts in the Carolinas?
