If you look carefully at my second picture you will see a 3-1 exhaust. Looks like the same one that Matt Spencer posted. It had a removable baffle, and yes it would HOWL w/o the baffle.
Any opinions on which replacement mufflers, 3into1 systems, look the best, sound the best , or look like the originals .

I kinda like the pea shooters on there
Pea shooters do sound very nice as Fast Eddie said a few posts ago, but I think that rayguns, which I had fitted before sounded even better. They had a very deep note and apparently flow very well. I took them off as they looked a bit "clunky." My friend bought the ray guns from me and when I hear them, the sound is quite unique. Slight regret there.🙁

I like the ray guns on the early bikes.

Here's a picture with the ray guns fitted. I have both the UK (yellow/white) and U.S. (red/white) fuel tanks. This is my U.S. tank fitted, painted by FD Motorcycles.

I didn't know yellow/white was a home market color.
I've seen a couple here.

In actual fact the red/white was home market colours and the yellow white was for the U.S. I'm not sure about the other countries that they were exported to.
I have my fuel tanks painted the opposite way around. Sorry for the confusion.

Only the tank sizes were (supposedly) different as far as I'm aware not the colour although my UK T160 has the small (Burgundy) tank.

So, by all accounts, this one owner bike should have the small tank? Or large? US spec

The best method of defence is offense ! The 3-1 obviously lighter also on Rt. might
get more symetrical weight / balance . ( offsetting the primary drive weight )

Cant see why a T 160 couldnt be ' Bonnevillerised or Chromeified ' With traditional Mufflers .
Glass Pac. straight thru . was Tri ' performance ' STANDARD . ( look like Concours type .)

I remember both tanks on the 160 back when they were new in the USA. But white for the small one and purple-ish red for the big one. You could ask for either tank but then this was End of Days and deals would be cut to get things out the door. Someone would probably even go so far as to re-paint for you.
As for the rayguns, are the current offerings actually raygun spec inside? The 3X club does have the original drawings. I know someone has said the originals work well because they are LOUD. :-)

Exactly my thoughts!

When discussing ANY repro silencer one must establish what’s inside.

It’s pretty futile thinking that cos something worked well ’when I were a lad’ that the ’made to the lowest possible cost’ without any drawings, Indian, Taiwanese, Chinese repro part will give the same results decades later.

Is it an illusion, or has the badge on the sidecover started sagging in the front?
They are none standard side panels. I fitted Harris side panels and fitted the badge to match the shape of the styling line moulded into them.

The original TSS ones were those flat T140 ones that also extended forward to cover the carbs for some bizarre reason. I didn’t like ‘em.
