Geez @ericg & @David750 fastback & @frank73x89 , It would be polite to converse in english on this forum.
Unless, that is, you don't wish others to participate in your conversation?
Cheers
sorry normally I go through a translator. this must not have worked

Hi Rob,
Here is the translation of my message to David750:
"Hello David, welcome to this forum but I'm afraid French isn't the right language here.
Cheers."
Polite enough for you?

Eric
I just saw four posts in a row in French.
I can use Google translate too, but it gets a bit tiresome.
Cheers

A discussion over what is and what isn't the correct language here. Just too early in the morning is all.
even if we are not on the Norton subject. We were indeed criticized for expressing ourselves in French (I would point out that this was unintentional)
Out of respect, it seemed normal to me to explain this. However, for me it doesn't stop me from bothering to sleep or waking up in a good mood. mood that changes as soon as I think of my fastback which is waiting for its parts and with which I cannot drive for the moment. I even almost shouted long live my Kawasaki MachIII with which I can drive without worries. I didn't do it so as not to start a war.

Back to pictures of motorcycles...
My 1974 Commando MK2, being upstaged by my 1968 Bonneville.
I've owned the Bonneville since 1976, and it has been getting intermittently restored since then.
Commando was a new arrival this year, and has been getting converted from a heap, to an operational motorcycle. Strip down and paintwork to follow, once I'm happy that it's working as it should.

Rita staying, as its working....
Wiring all seems fine. The control unit rubber mountings had disintegrated.
From the licence plate, and tyre dates, it appears it was last used around 1981, and lay neglected since then. Engine was free, but cylinders/heads were crusted with carbon. Low compression until the head was cleaned and valves lapped.
Original plan was to go for the "Blue Stripe" paint scheme, until I found the "Fireflake Royal Blue" under the rough green. Now I can't decide....

Is the blue a repaint, or is it the original with the green stripped away?

I removed the tape pin striping from my side covers (it had been applied in reverse fashion) and during the course of a front fork and brake rebuild, I swapped out the "spring cover style" gaiters for the small cap style. A bit of cropping and changing to noir made for a fun photo, even though it's just a driveway pic. I got photo bombed by a neighborhood kitty!

I find it incredible that such tired old wrecks can, with time, skill and patience (and plenty of money of course) be so totally transformed. Sadly at least two of those are beyond me. Here’s my before photo and of the day I received it, already 10 yrs since the build:
