Pictures of your Norton 961

I see you have a Grenadier as well, wildrover! There must be something about appreciating Grenadiers and Norton Commandos! I also know another chap here in Aberdeenshire that owns a Grenadier and has ordered a silver 961SP. So that's at least 3 of us now in the UK. All the best with the new bike!
Yep, bought an early Grenadier, very pleased with it. Interesting that you should know that other Grenadier owners are buying 961's.

Just happened to drop by “ The Bike Shed “ in Old Street,East London today & guess who I bumped into ? , Cliffa on the left, GLB in de middle & Moir on the right ,so we demolished more than one or two beers then nipped to Brick Lane for a curry , no riding today , but as we all got 961,s there was plenty to moan about, oops well I mean discuss in the usual light hearted banter .

We declined a tattoo & barber shave , just went on the sauce, first meet of the year, next one is Andover & the “ wharf inn “ the following day in May this year

Sweet !

That Cease & desist letter has clearly got lost in post, been completely ignored or perhaps there’s been an outbreak of common sense at motorcycle juggernaut TVS, this waterfront cafe on a Lanzarote seafront has been proudly illustrating & promoting our 961 commando uninterrupted for at least the last 3 Januarys I been here .

As many have done, I went for the new 961 Commando SP:

Being old school, I bought outright at a reasonable £13,465/$16,691 (on the road inc. all taxes and delivery to my home).
The Michael Mouse mirrors have already gone:

I have some LED indicators to replace the lollipops when I can find the relay, and buy some Molex connectors.
I'll also replace the reservoirs with Rizoma Notch items.
I've also replaced some other bit and pieces, but you'll need to be eagle-eyed to spot them.
I'm looking forward to some better weather, as it's got filthy already, but cleaned in short order.

Lookin’ good.

What did you use as pillion pegs mount bungs?

I’m really hoping Stu at Motorvated makes some solo rear exhaust mount frames, otherwise I’m gonna be sorely tempted to get the angle grinder out …

That's bootiful, like how all the trophies match the sloping ceiling

That's bootiful , love how all the spanners and trophies match the sloping ceiling. Now that' anal with a capital 'A' ,and people went on about anal ignition keys.😄😄😄
Doesn’t everyone build their shed around their trophies ?!

If you’re referring to all that fuss about the ‘boring’ ign key, I just don’t get that at all. It’s a f*cking key !!

How is it?
Overall quality of fit and finish looks top drawer.

The colour scheme on this LE version is even better in ‘the flesh’. It really does look classy.

The exhaust note is a tad less raw than my old one which ran shorties and de cat pipes. It’s deep and mellow and sounds very, very, nice.

The engine rattles like an old skool air cooled lump should. The primary does not sound like an impending catastrophic failure like my old one did. Thank goodness!

So first impressions are all very positive. But I haven’t ridden it yet.

One niggle… I didn’t get a handbook… that can’t be right can it ?!
