fuel proof locktite or similar...

not for my Commando but......

need to seal some threads on a fiberglass tank...
from the tank to the petcock adaptor....
doesn't need to be permanent but should be able to keep the fuel from leaking...
any ideas?

PTFE tape?? Not sure about petrol, but I've used it on my oil tanks for years. Worth a try as if the threads are good you shouldn't get any leaks anyway?
 
Not sure what country you are in, but I often use the Loctite version of liquid Teflon. Most other things I've tried except good old Permatex are fuel soluable. The Permatex works but is a bear to remove next time.
I prefer the liquid over the tape because it will fill tiny holes the tape won't.

Products available tend to be different even between the US and Canada. When I do vehicle work in Oz and Kiwi I have to ask the local guys what works.
