ps the leather saddlebags are getting a good run. Did good service in the rain last weekend on the ES2 and now mounted on the 16H for next weekends Napier run.

Rebuilt this winter, top end, carbs, valve train. Currently no spark still trying to figure out. I have learned these bikes are more fixing and improving then they are running/ririding at least in my case. Have had the bike for about 2 years and it seems once I fix something another issue pops up.
Should not be, I rebuilt mine finished last oct. took a year and went through everything but the transmission and bottom end. Just a matter of money  I went with the Power Arc from old Britts, expensive but super easy install and replaces everything but the ignition switch.
It has become a weekly rider I have put 2000 miles on it since the restoration. first kick starts and a few leaks but no problems.
After 32 years in pieces and abandonded by the previous owner. One year of Sunday morning time and here is the result. Not concurs but the usual Patina and now its time to rack up the miles and enjoy with maybe a little cleaning and polishing later !
Took BessieC out for a run last Monday; Home -> Kilcunda -> Woolamai -> Archies Creek -> Loch -> Glenn Forbes -> Home and really enjoyed it. The bike just purrs along quite happy at 100kph around the twisties. Decided to do the same run this arvo, but in reverse and it was even more enjoyable than on Monday. Only stopped once today, and that was to have a quick cuppa at the lookout just out of Loch. Very hazy - fog had only just lifted, but other than that - a cracker of a day.
The seat/tank combo is such an improvement over the Dunstall plank and Interstate tank. Body is further forward so more weight over the front end. Riding position is more upright as well which makes it a lot more comfortable.
It was so much fun I didn't want to stop. Could have ended up in another State. I think I'd better go and do it again tomorrow.
Finally got this one finished - started out (for me) as a basket case with many parts missing, so thanks go to Fast Eddie, Mike (Mikesvintageparts), Tim Kraakevik and Johnnymac for providing vital parts
Maybe I'll remember to fit the points cover soon...
I still need to get a few details sorted, but she's running strong and clean - and oiltight.
The pipes are a NOS balanced set which I've had for ages - based on the number stamped on them (on the silencer portion) I'd say they're old Wassell ones, similar to what RGM are currently selling.
The colour is Fireflake Royal Blue and the flakes are Valspar F22 - dry flakes in lacquer as per original sprayed over a black base, and a perfect match to original samples.
Every time I get into a metalflake paintjob I start regretting it as it takes ages, but once finished it's worth it
