Hi,
I am a Triumph guy who has always lusted for a black & gold Commando ever since I first saw one in the 1970's.
Well here it is, I believe it is a 1973 or 74 MK2 based on the serial #( 317878)

The bike has been sitting in a basement for 40 years, and it "ran when it was parked" I'll be starting the teardown soon and hope to have it on the road for next spring. Many differences compared to Triumphs so lots to learn..

Out on my pushbike this morning and bumped into three Brit bikers on the quay (Matchless/BSA/Triumph) so thought would air the Norton and get a group photo. Alas they'd gone by the time I returned, so having had my exercise thought the bike best get some too.... As the camera was handy, this seemed as good a place as any for a pose. Not the most original of photo shoots... but it's local :)

Ouch, that head butchery is, err, interesting... as well as utterly unnecessary...!

If that’s a RH10 head it’s worth saving, (the head type code will be stamped above the right side exhaust rocker cover). Looks like you need to get to know Jim Comstock (Comnoz one here) or see his website: http://www.nortonmachineshop.com/

Nice shop by the way, but there appears to be a lot of none motorcycle stuff cluttering the place up :rolleyes:
