Out on my pushbike this morning and bumped into three Brit bikers on the quay (Matchless/BSA/Triumph) so thought would air the Norton and get a group photo. Alas they'd gone by the time I returned, so having had my exercise thought the bike best get some too.... As the camera was handy, this seemed as good a place as any for a pose. Not the most original of photo shoots... but it's local
Afternoon Sir.... Photo was taken about half hour before opening time, but the Manager came out for a chat about bikes in general (I gather he rode at one time) then progressed to Mazda MX5s so I made my excuses and left... Old age precludes me remembering if that was last Thursday or Friday.. So I might have just missed you if you hadn't already decided not to turn upI was in blighty last week and went out that way to Hyde Hall RHS gardens on Thursday. I was tempted to pop to Cold Norton, but ran out of time. Was the pub open?
Edit - Your bike looks great by the way
Cheers,
cliffa.
The kid made some progress yesterday - removing the high-rider bars and the hillbilly exhaust with carriage bolt fasteners. I confirmed the head type code of RH4, but have a lead on a head stamped RH10, though it's also had some work to repair the threads in the exhaust ports. I was told the weld shows, and not suitable for restoration but fine to use as a runner. I'm waiting to talk with the kid and photos of the RH10 to determine if this will be alright with him.

Nice Craig - Hate my headlamp brackets ( standard ) - I like yours - who made them ?
Thanks Craig ! I may order them up - install next winter though - I haven’t the heart to tear down the forks at this time .RT .... I just found the EMGO headlight ears on Amazon $33 plus $5 shipping .... in case you were interested , lots of other types that supposedly fit a Commando as well ....
