The bike looks great!

I had some of those petrol taps before but can’t recall where I got them from! Can you enlighten me?

Also, what are the carbs?

Hi Eddie. They are Keihin CRS twin carbs. I got them from Jim Schmidt. I think they are overkill for my stock motor. Also, I am fowling plugs at a shocking rate so definitely needs some adjustment. The petcocks are from Jim Noll. Model 065 ESL and 065_RESL. They are really beautifull.

I don't know what you're implying sir! ;)
Do you have a VIN? The guy I bought it from is a family friend mechanic who was given the bike in the late 70's by a friend (NJ). Bike has been of the road from 1984 to 2019.

I wonder if your bike is still out there......

I'm implying that I really loved that color and your pic brought back memories, good & bad.I wish I knew the VIN. I was pretty dumb back then. Didn't have theft insurance either. The original paint looked a lot like in your picture, but I doubt it would look like that today. Also, it had Roadster pipes. I was able to buy a '71 Roadster the following year, and I still have that one. Finally got it back on the road last year after dragging it around in boxes for 38 years.

Lovely fall riding weather today. Did the Squamish Valley run.

These were taken using Portrait effect mode on the phone cam. Never tried it before but it seems ok. I'm used to fast glass bokeh effects and this is a progammatic simulated effect. Not bad I guess.

Hmmmm....just sitting here wondering (oh yeah, 71 days until redeployment back to the US of A!!!!!) why there is no "post a picture of your Norton" thread on this forum. Am I missing some area of the forum that folks can post a pic of their Commando instead of on random threads? Seems it would be easier to devote one thread to this topic exclusively sort of like over at the Britbike forum. Just a suggestion.

I am a noob to this forum so just tell me to shut my pie hole if it has been discussed before (it probably has). I for one would really enjoy checking out owner photos of the most legendary of ALL british bikes...NORTON COMMANDO. :p

Ride with the Norton Motorcycle Club of South Australia on Sunday. We stopped at a pub across the road from an old Ampol petrol station so took the opportunity for a photo

Unfortunately I must have not done up the Dzus fastener properly and my sidecover went skidding down the road.

Same thing happened to my side cover years ago. I now have it on with a "zip-tie" with 1" length of rubber tube ... and before that I used a 1/4 x 20 bolt with nylon locknut, and rubber tube. Zip tie is easier to remove though by just cutting.
