A nice run across to the coast but I couldn't get her down the steps, so headed back inland via 'The Wolds'

Hello MXMartin , Must be nice having the extra range in the Alum tank hey ? How much more range are you getting from it ?

Bit parky this morning at 8.20am but lovely sunny day so negotiated my absense and took the 961 out for a spin around some lovely B roads. Coffee and a saugage and egg roll at the Neville Arms Medbourne and then to Uppingham and back to Oundle via Harringworth (look at that stunning viaduct). The bike performed well and was a joy to ride. I am shocked that Nigel is selling his, the 961 feels fast enough for me and very engaging.

I don't know Tony as I usually go out on a 100 mile blatt and then top the tank up at home from jerry cans. All I know is I did 109 miles the other day and didn't have to worry about stopping for fuel :)

the replacement fly screen gets an outing I see
Well there lies a story.... I wanted to put the tiny black indicators on the injun, so I got some small (but not tiny) chrome leds for the 961, but they looked better mounted next to the headlamp and not on the cut down fly screen that I had, so now my cut down screen had holes in it that were't being used lol. I had used my brand new 'spare' fly screen on the injun, so I had to order a replacement from Norton (Note: price has gone up, these are now £317 with post) and when it arrived I thought I would put it on the bike rather than back in the 'spares' box.... but now I can't see those lovely chromed clocks and headlight :)

The Screen seen a better fit that my 2015, I have a near inch between the headlight and screen, tighter fit looks better IMO.

Noice !!

The headlight brackets on the anniversary models are same as used on the Dominator so maybe that could be why the fit looks different.

I cleaned her, tried a bit of Scott's 'detailing' but that's too ocd for me :) I also lubed the chain, had to ride through the mud covered building site near the factory and then rode home in the rain, so now she's not so clean and covered in lube fling :(

For those that haven't been to the factory and seen the assembly area.... if you go through the doors below the 'N'orton, turn left, through a set of doors and walk 30 feet into the open plan room you will be at the spot where my 961, and many others, were created :)

Couldn't afford a complete replacement head cover so plugged those hideous Banjo bolts... Not sure how others have done it but I used loctite 263 and punched the edge to secure forever.

IMHO its an acceptable look.

What torque did you tighten the Theil shock caps to? Must fit mine, they look great.

Hi Glenn

22 Nm as per. Have to be careful when releasing the top bolts as they are notorious for the hex head rounding out start with an impact tool from the get go and throw the old bolts away, the new Theil ones have a larger Hex head more suited to the torque required.
