Very nice. Had a night with old friends in a place called Pett nearish Hastings recently. Great steak and kidney pie at local pub. Next day walked along the shore in Pett and saw all the border police there conducting excercises, basically looking out for inflatables from Africa.

Nice lunch in Rye, lot of motorcyclists hang out there but nothing exotic, just the big four brands and a few older dukes. Great roads though through the kent countryside, smooth tarmac, fairly empty and a night at the Nutfield Priory on the way back (secret escapes deal).

The SF is waiting to be collected by the factory to look at its non starting issue, so it was out on the HD of a potter around Derbyshire today. Maybe having a second bike is a good idea with a Norton!

Totally agree, mine is currently at Norton HQ so making greater use of my Speed Twin - starting to wonder if I need the Commando....

Not planning to sell yet. I'm hoping starter solenoid. Not going to get many miles done this year though!

It's not Thursday so I guess this is Throwback Wednesday.

This is a photo of my little sister and me on my 961 just before I put it away for the season last year. I seem to remember giving her a ride on my Kawasaki back in the mid 70s. She burned her leg or arm on the exhaust. She never asked me for a ride after that for some reason.

Ok so......CRG levers arrived form F1 racing along with super magnetic sump plug Awesome !!

Whilst working on the levers I got mad at the way the bar end mirrors fitting looked fugly so re-worked them at the same time, went through the various bits that came with the mirrors and basically knocked the larger plastic spacer/busk on to the bar end tube with a rubber mallet, filed down the protruding clamp bolt end as well to make flush finish. I think the issue was that I was trying to get the OEM expanding rubber bar end bush to work and led myself down the wrong path to perfection !!

Very happy with them now, My OCD is paying dividends finally

Note the gap at end (what sure what I was thinking) Tada...!! How much better is that.

Finally got around to taking some pics of my ‘Cafe Racer Sport’ ... that’s what I think I should call it since the factory fitted the Sport bars!

Overall, if I could (age, abuse and neglect sucks huh) I’d still have clip ons back on it. But the Sport bars do still look very smart and stylish, and much more to the point, it is now SO much better to ride! Ok, it took a few laps to get used to on the track, kinda felt like I was riding a Harley at first, but I got used to it. On the road it is just better. Everywhere. Period.

The Cafe spec master cylinders and billet levers also worked out better than I’d expect.

Overall I’m very happy with how it turned out. The factory did a superb job at a very fair price and very quick turnaround.

Hey Eddie, that is a beautiful looking bike mate. Love that dark theme, including the tail unit although the reflection on the tail in the top image does get me thinking about a Commando rendition of an unfurling Union Jack.

Which levers are those, I like the look. Are they Norton levers? Thanks.

Steve
PS. Blueys right, you need to mow that lawn mate

They’re Norton billet levers. Stock ‘extras’ as part of the Ltd edition 50th Anniversary package.

Thanks Eddie,

Gonna do the Factory tour when in the UK in Dec and will get a look at the billet levers then. They look great though, at 250 I’d like to compare them to the Rizoma levers.
