Went out for a little tootle today up in the North Yorkshire moors to Stump Cross Caves , temperature at a balmy 4 degrees C so the heated clothing got a battering. It was just great to get out on the old girl again after a lay off . For all those people who still think that a 961 vibrates let me tell you that what you are feeling is NOT vibration at all just the heartbeat of wonderful engine showing you that it is alive and kicking so be happy that it isn't just a sterile soulless machine and enjoy it for what it is. Sorry about the quality of the pic the sun was in mi eyeballs.
This is a limestone cave system first discovered in 1860 by the Newbold brothers whilst prospecting for lead. Formed over 500,000 years ago it extends for four miles but it still hasn't' been fully explored although it's a site of special scientific interest .

Its the old adage 'its worth what people are prepared to pay for it'. The purchaser must be happy with the deal, the vendor must be cock-a-hoop so good luck to them both.
I hear there are people prepared to pay the thick end of £20k for a heavy 1000cc British bike with less than 80bhp and no riding modes/multi axis braking system/Bluetooth integration etc. Can you believe that??????

Anybody know if the 961 Is amphibious? Cyclone Alfred bearing down on our coastline! Garages can be at risk so I moved the bikes into the house.
The wife asked me why I was paying soooo much attention to those ‘stupid bikes”!? So I put her car in the garage. Women, so unreasonable!

Short but sweet ride today - ‘Er indoors’ involved me in some of her stuff,……. again! On a Sunday!! Ride day!!! May have to put my foot down - quietly of course!

What a lovely day.!
Went for a spin yesterday, the weather had managed to claw it's way into double figures.... just. Finished up at Bolton Castle near Leyburn in the Yorkshire dales , the young girl never missed a beat and since I put the handlebar risers on it's a lot more comfy for my old bones. Did about 170 miles all together and as usual came home with a stupid grin all over mi face , even had a little chat with her while she was cooling down ( sad really ). This is one of over four thousand castles spread all over the UK and was built between 1378-1399 for Richard first baron Scrope of Bolton.
Mary Queen of Scots was held prisoner for six months in 1568 , it was also attacked by Cromwell's men during the English Civil War and besieged in 1645 . That's 1645 AD, not quarter to five in the afternoon.

Final colour scheme for tank’n’tail still eludes. Designing a few decals in Photoshop - relatively cheap to have made; might spark a few ideas. It’s either that or get on with the wife’s ‘honeydo’ list of chores!
For those interested in the history of the Cafe Racer (where modern sports bikes hailed from) the 59 will have some meaning.

Nope , not a colour change for me , but stumbled across this one , caught up with the owner who lives just 2 miles from me ,it’s a 2016 bike , in good shape , suggested this site to the owner
