it is ridiculous! When I placed my order I was told up to 12 weeks, I visited norton on that date and it was just a rolling chassis... and what you get told is your getting a special bike built for you just be patient, that only works for so long, I ended up chasing them every two weeks for updates

Yes, I agree 3 months would have been fine, six months certainly isn't and the bike has been fully paid for since the beginning of July. This "service" just isn't good enough. The factory says they are waiting for forks to be delivered , hmmn maybe . Of course If the bike is built by next weekend all my dissatisfaction will surely vanish, and I really hope that is the case.

I know exactly your frustrations, my thoughts are though when you pay the full money 6 weeks before completion everything should of been ordered and every bike uses similar running gear why is there no stock?, I waited three weeks for a left hand side engine case and another three weeks for carbon fibre, for some reason they hold no stock of anything hopefully you get it soon and get a couple of runs before the weather turns.

Hi there, in 2012 I waited 9 months for delivery to Switzerland. I thought UK orders had even longer lead times at that time...

Back to pics - just to show that Essex is not simply cheapie seaside towns and TOWIE

very nice. It looks like you have the de-cat kit? You may like to consider removing the Lamda sensors (see separate 'Lamda Delete' thread) and then I am sure you'll get an even bigger grin....!
Isn’t the dominator bit different re the lambda sensors ? & all euro 4 bikes are satisfactory on the fuelling

Thanks, hadn't thought about decat but correct you are. Found the original crossover with cat in the box of bits - man that thing weighs a lot. On top of Richard7's guides i have been going through all sorts of threads compiling a list of knowledge/experience from here. So much better than when i bought my original Commando in 1984 - Haynes manual was the only reference.
Four years and 8500 miles of ownership I have a reliable bike that starts, runs smoothly at tickover even when cold, that gets even better with speed. You will learn the foibles and sort out the niggles - just stick with it, there are many here who can help!

It’s worth the wait

I think so. Not sure how many miles you intend to do on it and you probably feel you are missing out on some good weather, but there will be plenty of sunny dry days through autumn and winter. Have you got a spare bike, need something Italian in the stable

Yep, I've got a few bikes, the newest being a 77 Mk 3 Commando. But that's not really the point. The 961 would have been going to Spain in a couple of weeks.

That’s not good Sam.

When I saw your name in the pictures thread I thought ‘great... some pics of Sams Cali’!... sadly not...

IF they’re really building 10 per week, and you ordered yours in Feb, they can’t possibly be that busy that sheer number of orders is causing your delay (they should have built 300 bikes from Feb to Aug inclusive).

7 months and counting, and a string of excuses, is almost a return to the bad old days...

why is there so little info from the factory about delivery times, either in general to let discussion groups know the likely situation for those with bikes already on order/ paid for, or updates to individuals as their orders progress? Speaks of a lack of customer relations training/principles.....

Discovered these at Aldi, very nice at £1.25 each and 4.5% OG. I think the faded 961 in the background is quite artistic as well as me inside the bottle

Today was prob one of the best last days of autumn, so my chums & I took in a tour at the nuclear power station at dungerness, which I can’t recomend highly enough, needs booking well in advance so they can check u out & make sure u ain’t going to climb on the roof & demo against nuclear power, passport req & airportstyle security ,great local pubs for locally caught fresh fish,as well as great ride there & back in the Kent country side
