Nice one Voodoo...

I have a pair on the way now!

Hi Nigel - I really like your attention to detail pesonalising your bike - you are well on the way to making it look almost as good as a Manx Silver bike ;) Mine is currently at the factory waiting for a good weather pickup but I have a few items on my list for attention you may want to look at while fettling;

Under the engine is what looks like a black plastic catch container held on in an ugly manner with a giant ducting jubilee clip. I was making a shaped stainless clip but I asked Simon Skinner about it and he said 'you don't need it you can take that off'. ?????
The throttle cable attachment on the throttle body looks like a lawnmower part. There is a guy making a fabricated cover but can maybe a tidy milled component be fitted?
The rubber boot on the sensor on the front of the engine is loose which means water will hit it and run down into the connector leading to the corrosion seen in other postings. Cable tie and silicon grease? What about a little discreet cover on the lower front of the engine to protect it and prevent the corrosion in that area I've had on other bikes?

I saw the black plastic thing you refer to on mine whilst changing the footrest hangers. I believe it is a charcoal canister filter req for euro4. I thought about removing it but didn’t, I may now re think that!

Ref the injector body etc. I believe there is a guy selling billet made covers. I looked at these but...
Personally, I like the ‘honesty’ of the bare design. It’s an injector body and proud!
IMHO a cover adds no functional value and therefore just looks ‘false’ and detracts from the design honesty, so mine will stay ‘as is’.

In a similar vain, the false monoblock style injectors are one of the aspects I really dislike about the new Bonnies. I see it as gimmicky design. But others see it as attention to detail. All down to personal taste I guess, in which, I do seem to be in a minority!

Good tip ref the front sensor, I’ll look at that. But as per the above, I won’t be fabbing a cover as ‘less is more’ to my eye, so silicone grease will be on the menu.

Alright, I’ll come clean, I do like the Manx silver tanks. There, I said it! But, I didn’t think a plain silver seat would look right, and, I didn’t want any stripes on it. I thought it would look too much and, well, too silver. I also prefer a black air box. Then, finally, I realised I simply preferred black anyway!
Actually, Clem and Olivia told me that silver is by far the favourite choice for cafe racers. They couldn’t recall any other black anniversary Cafe racers, so once again, I guess I’m in a minority!

For anyone who hasn't taken delivery yet of the 50th model, I had mine collected and delivered to me. It came with the short pipes, de-cat pipe which is a pain because now I will have to courier them back to the factory in order to get them fitted at the first service. Worth letting them know to hang on to them unless of course you are servicing the bike at a nearby dealer
Hello mate I'm due to collect my bike in March as i only live 1 hour from the factor and am going to arrange to have it delivered for around £80 thinking about going up to the factory the day it is ready to make sure everything is ok then have it delivered the next day any thoughts

I would have collected in person except I couldn't get a lift and the weather is poor. Delivery in the end was the best option. I used: thebikemovers.co.uk and also am just over an hour away. They deliver the pipes, the additional seat, cover, paddock stand, old break leavers, user manual at the same time. They don't have the room to store all the pipes, so you will have to send them back by the first service. I am sure you will have read the tips on fitting the mirrors etc and the battery charging lead location and what you need. Then you must ride it and inform us how it went with pictures. Don't let additional keys jangle otherwise they will scratch the yoke

Hi John - I was quoted £100 to Solihull so that sounds ok. Yes - go and have a good lookover the day before and take many photos pre transport. Regarding some previous conversations on overtightened oil fillers how about getting them to undo/redo it for you and talk you through measuring and topping up. When I picked up mine I hadn't ridden for several years, it was raining, getting dark and I now have an audience watching me go!!! Don't drop it Don't stall it Don't drop it Don't stall it......

Hi ya John , why don’t u hire a van & pick it up, they’ll help u load it at factory , just get a mate to help u unload it , use a scaffold board or similar ,nothing better than taking pics on its actual birth day

I collected mine in a hire van, partly for that very reason, kinda made an occasion out of it.

Be careful if you go on a factory tour though...
You might start thinking about how that Dominator Naked, or V4, would be a nice accompaniment to your new Cdo !!

Considering various options mate but thinking hire van and some mates as the best option Clive had a nightmare with his due to weather and on fuel ,do you return your bike to the factory for servicing.

Keep in touch with Clem about your bike build and go on one of the factory tours on a Friday and then you can see your bike at some stage of its build. I saw mine whilst it was on the dyno test. If the friday tour is impossible, Clem is very accommodating and may fit you in on other days. I wanted to pick mine up but as I had already seen it and the factory, delivery for £65 I thought was excellent and hopefully I will be back asap for the fitting of the pipes etc. Thats if I can limp through the next 500 miles. Hopefully if the weather is good this weekend, I will try and put at least 60 on it and live.

Hi - are you going to try adjusting the idle screw as per some of the previous posts?

Its the first 350 which are really grim. Try to stop the scooters overtaking you. Mobility scooters that is.....

When I spoke to Clem the other week, I said it felt like the idle was too slow and he warned me not to fiddle with this setting as it had very fine adjustment and messed with the mapping. It is tempting to try it myself but worried i may mess things up further. Weather looks ok this saturday, I will try and put 50 miles on it and see if things improve. I don't think they will to be honest but I would rather not have to make a trip to get it sorted and another soon after for the service so I shall try and persevere.

Do you think it is worth giving it a quarter turn then? can you take a pic of it so I wouldn't turn the wrong thing

Here is the screw , you can try 1/8 turn first . It sure seems like that screw needs to be turned in some.
