Ugliest part of a 961

Nigel hasn't mentioned long exhausts or the big gap where the supercharger should go! He's obviously been abducted by aliens and replaced with an imposter!!!!

I’ve been on an unconscious bias course and now realise I’ve been very discriminatory against long pipes. My profuse apologies for my indefensible prior actions. I am now a changed gender pronoun neutral person.

The other reason I didn’t mention long pipes in relation to ugliness is becasue I thought it rather obvious that anyone with any actual taste would clearly remove them at birth. And to be fair to those long pipes, they’re not actually that ugly when boxed up and on the shelf. That is, of course, assuming one can find a long enough box and arranges a suitable shed extension to accommodate the required looong shelf...

I think the correct response to this thread theme is...

Ugliest Part!? Part!? Thats like saying there's actually a good looking bit on a camel!!

Let the floodgates of abuse open.

I have to agree with you
There are uglier bikes out there
And beauty is in the eye and all that
But I wish the new company all the best

I will not stand for this blatant ‘longism’, especially from you stubbies!! You know what they say about guys with small pipes!!? Leave them as nature (and Norton) intended - Long ’n’ Proud!

The ugliest part is the petrol!.....
That is now seeping from the underside of my petrol tank.
After fitting a new Oberon clutch slave cylinder I thought that I was good to go.
Bugger!

Oh shit
Is it the actual tank or the seal that I've read stuff about?
Ugliest part of the Norton company not just the 961 had to have been Stuart Garner surely?

Time for a aluminum tank ?
Tank off,can’t see anything obvious,
Seal on sender unit looks ok but where it fastens to the underside of the tank?
Is it flat!
Will check Norton for a seal.
Needs more securing screws if you ask me to pull it more square when tightened.

If I put my long ugly pipes back on will that stop my tank from leaking!
No, but if you're busy installing the pipes, you'll be less likely to notice the leak.:p
Is the leak coming from the fuel pump gasket?
Might be time for a new one.

I suspect it is but no tell tale signs.
The seal is just a big fat o’ring.
Norton are open for business but closed for COVID-19!!

If you replace the large O-ring , then look into the red sealant that AF1 recommends to apply before assembly . Made by Loctite

Have been looking at blue Hylomar,
Looks like it will do the same thing.
Not keen on using sealant as o’ring should be enough but if needs must.
