Carbon Wheels on ABS Norton 961

I wish that this is really the case but we have two people that said they tried and it doesn’t fit.
We have Vernon240 friend that tried and this also from FB screenshot attached.

This Norton with Carbon wheels use 6 bolts front and 4 bolts back just like the ABS model, so I really don’t get what is going on…
Indeed, looking at how the ABS rings fit to the discs, etc, I really cannot imagine what the difference is ?!

Stu, all hopes are on you now mate …!

Carbon rear vs rear ABS.
Carbon front vs front ABS.

The rear and back brake discs looks 100% identical and that only the ABS rings was added on top to the exact same bolts holes.

Also, since it's not been mentioned, when you switch to a carbon wheel, it changes your suspension setup, which is why Norton had a separate spec on the Ohlins for the carbon-equipped bikes.
Now that I did’nt know, although it makes sense! Never touched mine after fitting the carbon wheels - I was just so pleased with the transformation in handling. Have a suspension specialist close by, time for a visit methinks; see if he can make it handle even better.

Good info CG, thanks.

It will change the dampening and rebound from unsprung weight. First, try backing off your settings. Lighter weight requires less control. More noticeable on super smooth roads as you'll pick up wheel chatter.
Of greater concern, will @Stephen_Spencer be required to change his cleaning routine due to the change? Dust particulate vs surface area corrections or the like?

Dust, DUST!!!!!! Nobody said anything about dust:oops:!? Luckily I have one of these on order! Just got to work out how to attach it permanently to the bike whilst I’m riding!

If it’s good enough for a ‘common’ Triumph…………………!

And here's a drawing of a cat. But none of these drawings will aid me in removing a wheel from one bike to see if it fits another bike 🤪🤣

Edit: now you've deleted your post with the two images, this cat makes zero sense 🤦🏻‍♂️

Hopping to hear good news on the weekend! Thanks!

Sorry guys, I'm struggling right now as I've got a bike stuck on one of the lifts....and I need both lifts available as I'm avoiding working on the floor due to a knee ligament problem in my right knee.
Also got a lot of work to get through. Done a 13hr shift in there today, and I'll be a longer shift tomorrow.

Hello,

laser a trigger disk, mount it on a wheel and it should work.
Place the ABS sensor on a place you want and bingo.
When I change the wheels of some bikes, Ollie do this job for me and it works every time.

This makes sense , seeing that the bike will already have ABS. So is it just a matter of making the trigger disc fit maybe this is where the problem lies , probably it doesn't just bolt up/line up . Vernon mentioned the disc bowed or misshapes itself somehow. What is not clear is why , seeing that if the same brake disc bolts up why not the ABS trigger disc ? The trigger disc is on the outboard side of the brake disc .
