Wow. Where do I start?

Curtis,

Sure sounds like it was worth the wait.
I'm glad everything got straightened out, finally.

Enjoy.

Great news. Sounds like the remap is really the answer to a lot of negative comments made about sound and performance.

Good to hear a report from another trusted source

Just reread my own last post...meant to say, there are some superficial scratches on the tank, but in the grand scheme of things....blah blah blah. Yesterday was a wickedly nasty day, so no updates. I'll try to get out this weekend.

I normally do not check this board on a daily basis. but have been checking at least twice a day to see your remap review, Britfan. I read with interest, the remap review from Richard 7 (thanks). I have a Facebook friend that has a 961 in NJ, he sent me a note yesterday that he got his remap done, and he is very impressed with the results

So, I am back to my original problem. How in the hell will I get my 961 remapped in Florida. BTW, it is mid 60's F today, and not a single cloud in the sky, so my 961 will get some road time today :D

GREAT NEWS BRITFAN!!!

Maybe you could send your ECU in the post. ???????

Good news Britfan, glad it got sorted in the end....!

My 961 is wrapped up for the winter, heavy rain, fog, mud, temp around freezing, its no life for a Norton at the moment....

Yes Richard, when I purchased my new DT pipes from South Bay, they offered to remap my ECU if I mailed it to them (a possibility) I am in communication with a guy near Cape Canaveral who is getting ready to write a check for a silver SF which is at Gold Coast. Maybe taking our bikes together to the Triumph dealer in Daytona and try to talk them either into doing maintenance, or possibly become a dealer.

Just got back from a 70 mile Thanksgiving Day ride. 65 degrees F, not a cloud in the sky, very little traffic (everybody is eating I guess), only problem, no twistys LOL I am loving this bike more after every ride. The bike has performed flawlessly, and the new pipes really give it a great sound

I want to live in America.....

Its beautiful here!
Wow. Where do I start?

Can I catch a break? Put on 4 layers of clothing, backed the bike out for a 32 degree ride, batteries dead. Damn. I'll put it on the tender for 2 hours and hope for the best. By the way, what's the verdict on starting while on the tender. Some say yes, some say no. I don't want to risk it myself.

We just got freezing rain and some flakes. Runways are clean and dry today, Capt. Tomorrow is going up to 52. I may just wait, but I'm sure you know how anxious I am. BTW...I still have an oil leak from the crank case.

Curtis,

Are you sure it's coming from the crankcase, and not from the airbox drain line?
I've had the drain deposit oil after overfilling the engine before I found out the proper method of measuring the oil level.
The drain drops oil in a similar spot beneath the engine that a crankcase leak would appear.

Mine did that too, as its a bastard to get the oil level right and anything over the top gets blown out the hose. I was thinking of using the old trick of a red bull can cable tied to the inside of the frame.....

Fred. That is entirely possible. I haven't had it back long enough to tell. Meanwhile, put a quick charge on it and rode today. I don't recommend the beach today. It was wicked fricken cold, man. Turned around and did the north shore twisties. Did about 50 miles. Ran good, but not as well as if it were a little warmer out. I think she likes to run a little hot. Also, downshifting was a little strange today too. Feels like I was kicking down 8 gears before I got to first. Almost like it has half positions. Could be my feet were so cold I wasn't putting enough effort into it. Anyway, got a fire going. Time to thaw out. Fun day overall.

It was too damn cold this morning with the 10-15 MPH winds.
I thought about going out but changed my mind fast as soon as I stepped out of the house.
If it's a bit warmer tomorrow I'll head out for a spin.
I want to see how the 961 starts and idles again too.
