Just out of curiousity, does the P11 use the Norton gearbox shell, or the AJS/Matchy gearbox type shell ?
Assume its the Matchy type, to tuck it up so close to the engine ...

Both Hybrids use the AMC shell, with the mounting lugs at roughly 12 O'clock and 4 O'clock, as opposed to 6 and 12 for Nortons

The fit of gearbox to engine is so tight on the N15/G15 that the oil lines go under the gearbox, rather than over. P11 has enough room (just) to run the lines over the gearbox.

Does anyone know where the patent decal goes on the slimline frame?

I am not where I can look at mine, but there is a "Made in England" decal next to the serial number on the left side swing arm gusset. I do not recall any 'patent' decal....can you be more specific?

I can take a pic of the Made in England decal next week if it would help.

Slick

Sure that would work...I'll take a pic of the other decal...It goes somewhere near the neck..

The only person I know of who has an original 'Color Me Fun' brochure is Tony Curzon.

Ask over on jampot.

My recreation is a copy of a copy of a copy, and the quality is not quite as good as this one.

Original tank sold on Ebay. Very nice historical piece.....very nice photos as well.

What does a competition series P11 ignition switch look like?
Here is mine complete with correct original alloy angle bracket.
The aluminum angle bracket has open ended slots that are captured by the left/right coils bracket inner bolts.
This bracket also has a flat sided hole to position the ignition switch correctly.
I recommend buying the Lucas switch with the Lucas key cylinder/keys already installed, as my experience with Emgo and Lucas pieces separately do not fit smoothly together.

I have noted quite a few air filter elements from various owners......but each one has included a metal mesh. Ebay, CARQUEST, etc.....
But I need a lead on a paper element with no metal mesh, like is shown here.
Any P11 owners research this ?

Contact Mike at Walridge - he may have the filter.

The one pictured is obviously a Fram. It used to be easy to find filters based on size, but most stores now don't have the old catalogs which showed stuff like this by dimension.

Back earlier this year when I purchased this P11, it came with a double neck , black rubber K&N type small oval filter. Pretty standard for a lot of street Nortons. I was in a rush to get a better filter , so I purchased the only box available, a steel P11 filter box........and at first I was unhappy about the steel construction, because the steel didn't look like alloy, and alloy was the look of stock filter. I had the steel air box powder coated silver and proceeded.
Now, even tho I have an alloy air box for display, the steel looks like the material to use on a P11 airbox for everyday riding. Both the steel and alloy P11 airboxes came with steel perf metal outer filter guard....about 2" in height.
With a variety of elements to use, A and B nuts, locked together, allow a slight adjustment in "clamped height".
The airbox cover butts against nut A and another nut (not shown) holds the cover plate.
D stud is a fully threaded 1/4 x 20 bolt from Lowes, C nut is a nyloc.

This steel P11 airbox is currently running a Fram CA656. This CA656 just barely fits inside the metal perf outer 2" band, not shown.
As I look into replacement elements or maybe alternate elements....all the new elements are orange, Fram like. Maybe a couple are black rubber, but you cannot go by the pictures posted for the sale of these paper filters.
What elements are you using?

This steel P11 airbox has been in service for about 500 miles.
Street/road pics of the P11 with this steel airbox are viewable on previous pages of this thread.

Looks good in powder coat. What was the stock air cleaner assembly made from, aluminum or steel?
There is a guy in Canada who reproduces them, I forgot his name but he can make them in either material.

I have a K&N on mine so cannot help with the stock element spec.
