Mine also is a K+N.
I looked up the Fram CA656, and it cross-references to Purolator A23336. Every Purolator filter I've gotten uses black rubber/plastic, though a picture on the Purolator website shows this one as orange. This is the same number used by Mobil, Shell and Group 7, if the Purolator is unavailable in your area.

Colin Kelly is his name... a great Norton enthusiast and fabricator. I've rallied with him many times. He's already reselling to most of the other Norton suppliers such as Raber's & Walridge but you can get in touch with him directky here: http://www.customclassiccycleparts.com/

The original oval air filters on P11, A & Ranger 750's were alloy and they usually cracked right away. That's why so few survived. I remember riveting in a repair plate inside my air filter on my 1st P11A that I bought in Feb. 1968.

PS I usually installed the carb. lock rings the other way around thinking it would spread out the vibration forces?

Looks good in powder coat. What was the stock air cleaner assembly made from, aluminum or steel?
There is a guy in Canada who reproduces them, I forgot his name but he can make them in either material.

I have a K&N on mine so cannot help with the stock element spec.

Hello,
after I received my P11A, I noticed that the pillion footpegs are missing. Is there anyone who can tell me a dealer where to buy or maybe the the original stock number ?

Best regards
Pete

What do the pegs look like? If they are like Atlas ones, Johnnymac has a set in the for sale section..

I have dealt with Colin Kelly and always 100% satisfied...

I don't think the Atlas footpegs fit on a Matchless frame, but I'll find out. The P11 pillion pegs were made without the rubber. Except the Ranger models, I think.

Hi Pete, Please post some photos of your P11A. My research shows the pillion pegs for all P11A + Rangers were of the flat, rubber covered, folding type, maybe no logos, even tho P11A did not initially come with rider rubber pegs. You might want to collect web photos of period (1968) lit for ref.

I am not sure this is the best period reference. As the rubber does not show its flat config....but you can look around for better.

Air filter cross reference numbers. Please be aware that the size difference and method of construction varies considerably more in the auto industry , so it is possible that many of these filter cross referenced will fit a TR6 Triumph roadster sportscar......but not a P11 Norton airbox.....because of too much/too little something.
This list is a CA656 Fram cross reference.

Wow, Thanks, your P11A looks stunning, very nice. Not many miles on this well done restoration.

in the interest of expanding the viewer rate for P11 Nortons - I created a QR code for cell phone scanning - to allow a cell phone user to go directly to this Access Norton P11 thread.
try it out with just a "bar code scanner" app on your cell phone.

My Ranger pillion pegs are identical to those on my Commando - except there's about a 1-1/4" extension out of solid round stock welded to the end of the foot rest. This little extension keeps the passenger's heels off the mufflers. Foot peg rubbers are the same as Commando

Which Commando is this -they weren't all the same in the pillion pegs dept ?
This is an early 850 pillion peg.

Here's a pic I dug up of the foot pegs. I only had one pillion peg with my bike - the black one in the picture in the foreground. The one behind is a used Commando peg, which I later modified to match.

Hi Bill,
That's interesting you only had the one pillion footrest which had the extension piece fitted,as I recently acquired a genuine pair of complete pillion footrests with the exhaust brackets attached for my Ranger and only one of them had the extension piece as per your photograph. The question therefore,is this correct or do I need to modify as you have done.
Regards, Paul.

I don't know!

I assumed the pair were the same, but one would have to refer to a Ranger parts list to see if there were different part numbers for each peg. The P11A part is 034037, 2 required.

This would be one for Tony Curzon, he's the only one I know of who would have that parts supplement - if it exists.

I don't know why one side would have the extension and the other wouldn't. I don't see any difference in foot clearance, except maybe to keep the passenger's left heel from fouling the brake rod, and the extensions do keep the passenger's heels off the silencers.

I have re-tighten them a half-dozen times in the 4000 miles or so I've ridden - perhaps our previous owners of these parts weren't quite so vigilant, and lost one!

I extended the short one by using a piece of round stock, cut to length to match the other, drilled and tapped the extension, and tapped the peg. I then screwed them together with a UNF stud and Loctite. This can be easily undone.

Hi All,

New to this forum as I have just purchased a P11.

Need a few parts and was wondering the best place in the UK to get them from?

Need the following:

Fork Internals - Front and Rear mudguards - Handlebars - Silencers - Clutch Plates - Coil Holder - Damper complete - Throttle

Any information would be helpful as I am finding it difficult to find out information on this bike!

Many Thanks Ade

The bike looks awesome!!!!!
It's a good thing that there is nothing else to distract from its looks.

Best place in UK is AMC Classic Spares - Steve Surbey is the man to talk to, especially for things like fork internals and the steering damper

Best source for most of the bolt-on parts is Walridge in Ontario - Mike Partridge has most of them in stock.
