A couple of before and after photos of my 71 Fastback; I love this bike and enjoy every ride on her. I imported her from the UK to Oz and it has been a 12 month journey with still some way to go but I'm happy with the results so far.

The bike was stopped by 25 years.
I only gave a polished, clean the clutch and changed oils (i thought so, i started empty!!)
Now he must go to the autority controls to have a new licenze plate and then he  will be disassembled to a complete restoration.
Ciao.
Piero

time to put some work into my Commando.I don't have a heated garage and its still pretty cold in Germany :). Installed the Oil tank which had been restored and powder coated. i though about installing an anti drain valve but i left it as is.

Hi
Just found this Photo. I think it´s from 2002. It´s from the ride out at the NOC National rally, held in Kirkby Lonsdale. The rideout were shorter then planned, dueto bad weather, but was still around 100 miles (if I remember correctly) With a stop at RGM.

Couple of pics of my work-in-progress '72 Roadster into a Fastback conversion. Still a bit of work to be done and once it's all trial-fitted, sorted out and back on the road then it will be pulled apart for fresh red metalflake paint for a heavy 70's vibe.
Cheers, Martin

My latest Commando is a `73 850 Roadster. Over the winter I've re-done the top-end, rebuilt the forks, new shocks, new paint, some new chrome bits, rear fender, new pipes, PWK flat slide carbs, alloy blinkers, Dave Taylor head steady.

Boy oh boy those poor old neglected Commandos look so obsolete and long in tooth clunkers. Mind trip like photoshop magic seeing so many before and after images. When Wes arrive at rally's all grins and see nicely finished examples we give each other an ambivalent reflex glance at the unobtainable beauties to us, as each ride in/out leaves em looking like another barn find project to uncover. I remember when real life cycles had effective mudflaps at each end & Irun them on mine which sort of adds big floppy ears and drool tracks to my long in tooth ole hound dogs. Snow chains needed all last week and this week mud buggy tires as mud floating on still frozen underground doing firewood off slopes and up ravines using PU and 60 ft chain feeling like Paul Bunyon but not man enough to handle the cold to recover two almost roadworthy cycles but got a grace day today so will haul Peel bones outside and put a grinder to em for some sense of pleasing finish around the added warts. Hmm before I do better ask forum advice on another weld on.

I'm in search of a good tank bag, something voluminous like what you look to have there. Where did you get it? Has it worked well for you? Does the bag have quick-detach anchors from the harness, or does it have to be completely undone to free the bag from bike? So full of questions...
Thanks,
Nathan
btw, nice looking MkIII!
