New (to me) Dominator

Nice work ! I wish I was your neighbor !
So do I. My current neighbour has moved out while his house is renovated. There are two shipping containers right on our property line containing all is possessions, they will be digging up a shared drive soon and it sounds like a building site most days..pneumatic drills etc. Still, I guess they won't complain when I start the Domie up! :D

After spending all that money... they probably will !!

Good point...but I'm going to be playing the 'I was here first' card, backed up with the 'you should be happy I'm not running magaphones' argument. If it comes down to it, I'll invite a mate around who does run megaphones to prove the point. I'm sure he'll be fine riding it from south wales to Kent :D . Probably.

You don‘t run megaphones ?!

(Don‘t blame you tbh, but don’t tell anyone I said that)
Only because I don't have any lol! But I'd need them plus the off road bars to hold them etc, so unless some literally fall into my lap, I'd rather spend money on an alloy tank. More socially acceptable.

Personally I think that open megas are too much these days, in the U.K. anyway. Either that or I’m just getting old !

Is the Domi tank the same as a Commando? If so MxMartin might have a nice alloy offering if you‘re quick...

Same tank.
I think you’re getting old lol. No offense.

I must be getting too old, as I agree. Love the look, but the sound will bring all the wrong attention. I've been all over MxMartin like rash lol! His bike is on ebay and I think the plan is that by offering the tank will kinda be the jewel that sells the bike. Completely understand where he's coming from. If, however, plans change and the tank is available separately from the bike, I'm all ears and we have spoken about price and I think we can reach an agreement. Not sure how it will pan out right now, but It's safe to say I've made my interest known, so I really have to see how things transpire really.

You can’t be that old if you can ride the thing !

Au contraire, surely as you age your hearing will worsen therefore making the awesome sound of the open megas just about right on the volume scale! Screw everybody else!! :D

Long live Norton.

I think you’re just proving me right there Stephen... it is precisely that ‘screw everybody else’ aspect that mellows with age I think. Until you get even older then it probably comes back again !!

This is hilarious! Thank you so much for brightening up my morning! Next time I'm barrelling along and a pedestrian preoccupied with her mobile phone steps out in front of me I must remember to tootel her with vigour!

Not sure about pressing the foot brake on corners with grease mud though.......

I can tell you one thing though. The skid demon doesn’t just lurk on the grease mud..

I’d love to ride a bike in Japan. It sounds a very interesting place. With lots of exhaust repair shops and festive dogs!

One section in manuals that continually amuses me is the section entitled ‘how to ride a motorcycle’....wait, what? I’m assuming this is for places where learning to ride before you take to the highways is like a red light in Italy, a mere suggestion.

I’ve often found that hilarious.

Workshop manuals are written such that they assume a certain level of mechanical training and competence.

Owners manuals are written such that they owner has never sat on a motorcyle before in their life !!

But whereas workshop manuals serve a real purpose: beyond the tyre pressure and spark plug info Owners Manuals are really produced to fend off legal claims from those who use a solicitor as a substitute for common sense. And all those hordes of 'things may be closer than they appear' type stickers. I really believe that in some countries lawyers are interfering with the principles of natural selection.....

ok, time for a tail tidy of my own design and manufacture. Both of these areas could be a problem

This is my issue. The top rectangle blob is the plate the bike came with. The larger one is a standard plate. If you look closely, there appears to be a size difference!

I'm making an ECU securing strap as well

As ever, it changed slightly..and will change again. I'm using 3mm steel plate here.

This is where I kinda ended up, with issues in folding and creating the profile I wanted, ended up cutting and welding
New (to me) Dominator

about as tucked up as it can be..

and test fitted with my smallest legal plate I can find. Looks like an air brake:rolleyes:

lack of welding gas stops play.
