Placed my order just a bit ago. Hope to have it ready for the show in Fredericksburg Texas in April.I will check them out. Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the tip. There is a racecar supplier up in Cresson at the racetrack there. I will pay them a visit.I used Dowty washers from these guys. Made for oil and high temps.
Sealing Washers & O-Rings | Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies
Sealing washers are used to form a reliable seal at the face of the female port. O-rings require a chamfer in the female port to provide a seat for the O-ring. Flat ports should use a crush washer.www.pegasusautoracing.com
I guess I should check mine - had it for a while now but haven’t tried it yet. Strap and rubber came from Norvil and connectors from Andover. I’ll let you know how it goes . Thanks for the heads up.Richard had asked for more pictures. View attachment 118455View attachment 118456View attachment 118457View attachment 118458View attachment 118459View attachment 118460
As of today all I have gotten was an reply saying Les had been on vacation and he would get back to me soon.I guess I should check mine - had it for a while now but haven’t tried it yet. Why don't the check before shipping or better yet when they receive them from their vendor.Just checked mine - same issues . The headstock end loops are large but I think I can close the down a bit and this will lengthen then strap a bit which will help in getting the bolt started . Other issues with the fastener set ( not from Norvil ) that I am working on.
two days ago Les was on the premises, as he answered a question for me.Why don't the check before shipping or better yet when they receive them from their vendor.
I will let you know what I hear back from them.
Just got a reply from Norviltwo days ago Les was on the premises, as he answered a question for me.
Looks like Norvil is going to make a fix for the incorrect straps by making a trunnion to fit into the oversize end of the strap and getting the correct size backing rubber.Just got a reply from Norvil
A simple die of hardwood and a bench vise will reform the loops.Norvil said that they had a lot of the straps, all made wrong so their using the trunnions was the best way to take care of the problem without costing themselves a boat load of money. The rubbers are easy enough to source without breaking the bank.
Hadn't thought much about it, but yes you are correct.A simple die of hardwood and a bench vise will reform the loops.
Got an Email from Norvil, the replacement rubber pad and trunnions are on their way.Looks like Norvil is going to make a fix for the incorrect straps by making a trunnion to fit into the oversize end of the strap and getting the correct size backing rubber.
