There is no cost, although almost everyone has made some sort of generous donation which helps me justify my time.... PM (private message) me your email address and I'll send you the 13 manuals I've competed to date. Read them, and if you find them of value, then that means I'm able to help keep one more bike on the road. And that's what matters. You will find these Bikes are insanely easy to work. But they do have their own quarks. Once recognized you will love them even more.

I've been staying up every night last week reading and learning as much as I can about these new Nortons as I wait to take delivery of a preowned 2014 961 CR next week. There are certain quirks that make me nervous and almost hesitant but everytime I see the picture of the one I'm getting, all the doubts disappear.

Please email me a copy so I can study it. Thanks in advance.

A REVISION to the SPLIT BALANCE GEAR MANUAL tomorrow. Please look for an email from me. I had a PROTOTYPE tool in the manual and didn't properly explain how to use it. The REV1 shows the tool available and how to properly set your SPRING tension.

Please delete the one you have on file and replace with "Split Balance Gear Spring - Norton 961 REV1"

I have a few new manuals I'm getting ready to capture. Now that the colder weather is here I wont mind taking my bike apart.

NEW MANUAL - REMOVING THE ECU

As the bikes are still very new, it would be unlikely that you need to replace the ECU, however, preventative maintenance is important. I wanted to remove mine to check on connections, add dielectric grease in any electrical connections I could and generally just see what is back there. I did discover that the ECU frame had the paint flaking off around the bolts. So I added some all purpose grease to prevent rust. Gave it a good wipe down and put it back together. It didn't take long and I suggest you do it too.

Fuel Tank Removal - Norton 961 (Get to battery and main fuse)

Cylinder Head Torque - Norton 961 (Recommended at 1,000 miles - prevent a blown head gasket)

Transmission Vent - Norton 961 (If you are blowing starter gaskets its probably this)

OIL CHANGE Transmission and Engine - Norton 961 (there is actually a lot to this)

Bulb Change - Norton 961

Throttle Control - Norton 961 (there IS a trick to starting these bikes)

Oil in the Airbox - Norton 961 (A good read for those who may not know about this yet)

Just a NOTE to say - If you ever need to unplug an electrical connection on a sensor or the ECU, at the very least, have the KEY turned OFF and the key out of the bike.

To be extra safe, disconnect the battery first.
