Rob,A nail ruined my sunny Michigan ride the other day....
I was thinking of using Slime in my tube, like I do in my road/mountain bikes and wondered if any of you guys do that. Good thing I wasn't too far from home when this little gem decided to perfectly lodge itself into my new tires and new wheels! Ugh...
Spoon off one bead, haul the tube part way out & patch it.A nail ruined my sunny Michigan ride the other day....

Nobody asked about your hairstyle Ash??I fine having 3 tyre levers work better than using just 2 when working on tyres, also buy levers that are design for motorcycle rims, I have pinched a few tubes over the years using car lever, and use lots of slippery stuff to make it easy to slip the bead over the rim and a good rubber mullet helps.
No before writing as it's coming up to our winter fishing and I had fresh mullet in my head when writing about the tyre levers and wrote mullet instead of mallet, but a few seen my mistake before I fixed it lol.Ashley's words right after he discovered the mistake:
Bugga!
bloody auto correct.

I agree. The motion pro set is good for bead braking but that's not much of an issue with our tubed tires. Also the motion pro set has a little more aggressive shape instead of spoon shaped. I bought the Neiko set - 3 long levers with rounded smooth spoons. All good, nothing wrong with a bit of humor, but the mullet hair style is big here in Aus with the younger lads and a lot of old lads living in the past but for over 30 years I had short hair with a long rats tail at the back which was always platted, but all my mates have grey hair these days, my hair is still the same light red it always been, but I gone back to my youth with long hair. And I thought it all about your 1970's style hair cut.... just like baz. Just wondering what you would look like with a mullet in that time zone. " the twilight zone" hah!
Who would have thought it was about a fish?
Just poke'n at yer ribs again ... mate
Man I wish I had a garage that size.I put the interstate tank back on my mk3 after Jim C fixed it. I put fuel in and it’s not leaking. Also, removed the smiths electronic speedo and put a restored magnetic one. Also, switch back to original indicators / turn signals. Fitted a new headlight shell as old one was not fitting right. Changed all oils. I am now ready to ride and it started snowing, here are pics
