turn signal woes

Ok. With wires connected, I have 12 at both terminals, and also 12 volts at the opposite end of the LG/N wire where it would come t to handlebar

Solved! Thanks to all L.A.B and esp greg...... who took time out to talk to me on the phone and walk me through every step. Switch has been resoldered, and now works great. Has a grounding problem he also solved. Thanks again this forum has been more than helpful on a couple of occasions.
