The new anti association laws and bikie crack down

Be sure to check out the author of this.

Have - was in Geelong about 1977.
There are about 50 points of convict interest about the district.
Maybe more these days. With signs pointing them out.
Not exactly a secret, so it was amazing to see what folks here were saying.
And the newspapers spelling it all out day by day are online these days

Hey, there is already a drone out there with everyones name on it.
Keep watching the sky for that thunderbolt !!!!!

The next time I am in Geelong, I'll have a look for evidence of convict presence. It doesn't feel like a town where there was a large convict population. I've never lived there, however I have a couple of friends who do. I will ask them about the local culture. In Sydney there is a detectable 'them and us', or rather there was when I was a kid. Another friend escaped from there in a hurry after being pinged over a minor crime and let go by the police. When that happens, every time they pull you up, they empty your wallet.

Here's how Mexican people are handling their drug gang problems when police and military can't or won't. I've seen articles like 15+ yr ago that analyzed the influence of drug money laundry on US economy to come up with shocker that its what's allowed many large corporations and banks to have high enough reserves their stocks didn't collapse about immediately. So its not good business for large Inc's nor Gov't so guess how that will work out in controlling the bad guys really.

Revenue raising, and domestic matters seem to occupy a great deal of pleeces time... ?

The stone built wharf was a large part of their early work there.
Important for trading and shipping stuff.
Seem to recall it had been somehow built over...

You have to remember that Vic was (officially) settled a long time after other states,
so the pioneering aspect of convicts was lesser in Vic.
Free settlers and ex-convicts more used to Aust conditions were soon available in droves,
not to mention all the gold rush folks...

Had a talk to one of the guys who lives there. He says he thinks the stone walls which are prevalent west of Geelong were built with the help of convicts. Apparently they gathered the stones however Trades people did the actual building. Is stone wall building a trade. I still have the impression that the convicts involved were press-ganged from the local lock-ups, however there are a huge number of those stone walls, they are around paddocks all over the west, even up as far as the western suburbs of Melbourne.

You don't learn, do you....
That website previously linked to lists the convict ships that arrived from the UK,
and the port and date they left from....
It specifically mentions them going to Geelong.

Also mentioned was all the squatters that arrived in Vic, complete with their assigned convicts.
From NSW etc.
Very few of the convicted that arrived in NSW from the UK were jailed as such,
they were assigned to the locals - slave labour, if you like.
If they were bad boys/girls though, they went to the bad boy settlements of Van Diemans Land,
or Port Macquarie etc.

But you are right in one aspect - local convicts added to the numbers, and over the years replaced the imports.

More convict works, in Williamstown

Must have been good at building stone piers/wharves...

Well the outlaw bikie gangs don't give up, tonight 3 Hells Angles member just got busted on the Gold Coast for stand over and intimation as well as drugs and beating up poeple who owe money, or taking prosession of cars, as well as a big stach of money, the usaual things they get up to, they just can't keep out of the lime light, just gives the Gov more amunition to justafife these laws.

You think they smarten up and just lay low, but they can't help themselfs and of course getting all their prosesssions taken off them and their families, they all come unstuck sooner or later.

Ashley

The Hells Angels are no longer welcome in my neck of the woods after they had a rally in Eureka Springs tourist town and killed a rival gang member and most the rest of em stiffed the motels and restaurants and shops. The local police handled them but when I was not long after later in same jail on contempt after telling a 'judge' I objected to him doing the absent and w/o oath prosecutors executive branch job, inmates told me the H.A's had their own area to themselves and had catered meals of steak and lobster etc bought in special when they wanted and their BAR card liar's went over locals heads high enough the brides and black mail stuck so moved to new jurisdiction till case dissolved. Really truly w/o the gangs and drugs and money laundry the powers that be would be out of control. Can join out law gangs w/o badges or outlaw gangs with badges. I think pure anarchy is the best system which really means Common Law which arises any time people agree with each other how to act and how to punish fair rule breakers from the grass roots level. A lot depends on the system folks grew up in forced from above down, when disaster hits with loss of civilizations organized utilities and govt we hear of locals instantly helping in remarkable ways Ham radio to air boats or raping and pillaging till troops arrive some what too late. I think everyone should be armed and dangerous or provide for someone around you who is if unable to do your civic duties yourself. You know there will always be mis fits so does it make sense to weaken the general population defense against their uninvited intrusions. Thank goodness some of us got to live some decades before it got so crazy on such a scale.

These outlaw bikies just don't get it, anouther few raids up Cairns way (far north Queensland) 17 bikies homes raided, guns, money, drugs, fast cars and stolen bikes etc etc, there is a speacial outlaw bikies task force going around this state of ours and if these outlaws think they are going to get away with what they have been doing for so long are dreaming, they will get caught.

I feel for their families, the kids and wifes that don't know how the inner running of these outlaw clubs run, when these bikies get caught and loose their proccesstion, houses, cars, boats and anything else that their ill gotten ways have gotten them for all these years, thinking they are a law above everyone else.

I don't aggree with these laws but something had to be done to control these lawless few.

Ashley

They didn't need all these silly laws to do this though, the pleece had the powers to do this anyway. ?
All they needed to do was take a few folks off radar gun / revenue raising duties...

I aggree with you Rohan but these radar guns and speed cameras aren't for revenue raising but to save lives  don't you know that, would our pollies lie to us

Ashley

Perhaps more to the point, would the pleece lie to us .....?

"How do you tell when a politician is lying ?"
"When their lips move"

Our Australian politicians and police are happy with their 'speed kills' slogan. Driver competence is never mentioned, and these days the cars are supposed to all be built to comply with the Australian Design Rules. We've had General Motors and Ford selling us garbage for years prior to the early 80s when they had tariff protection. Now that the protection has been removed, they still haven't moved far up market. When I was a kid, car safety was appalling, seat belts were not compulsory, and drink driving was common. In Victoria one year we had 1300 road deaths, these days it is more like 300. When someone gets killed it is usually through falling asleep on highways in the country, or simply sheer driver incompetence. 'Speed kills' is revenue raising bullshit, except when the new drivers get into it and take their friends with them. The licensing action has improved a lot, however if you put any one of our city drivers on a race track they would die of fright.
When I was in the UK, I noticed that the standard of driving was much better than in Australia.. I also think their education system is better after having a few conversations in their pubs - I found that the Brits usually know exactly what you have said to them. It is not always like that in Australia. (does anyone speak English in Scotland ? - I got lost in Glasgow - I might as well have been in Greece.)

Could explain a lot.....

The new anti association laws and bikie crack down

But we diverge.

I think I should explain something about the anti-bikie laws. They are not primarily about bikies. It is about a conundrum - 'democracy and control'. The Liberal Party in Australia is often elected on a law and order ticket. They are mostly religious people and it is about control. The laws are being sold as a solution to criminality in patch gangs, however they apply to any group the police care to nominate. Years ago the Summary Offences Acts were repealed in many states, our politicians are now attempting to take a step backwards in time. It all really makes little difference - if the police in Australia really decide to get you, they can. It is just that sometimes things get a bit messy - our police hate human rights people.

60-75 yr old blokes... FFS if you havnt got is sorted by now then you never will................ May as well lock up this thread as well. it will only ever go back to the start and go over the same ol'shit... If you thought you had "rights" way back in the 50-6o's then that delusion was a myth then and still is now....

Go ride your bikes and stop reading newspapers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Depending on how deep and far back you care to look, boils down to basic battle of good & evil with the largest-oldest criminals gangs winning in the end which means end of most mutli cellular life as sadly predicted by those who do study this, showing past point of no return about 3 decades ago. All these life destructive people from the dealer in an ally on a bicycle to the Black Pope's and the bankster cult families in palaces all survive temporary on and for our blood sweat and tears, till that runs out. The only reason drugs are outlawed is to protect the biggest drug dealers from the competition that would lower prices and lessen their global domination - till the end. Put that in your pipe while ridding off cares of life and times. Consider that the fractional-usury debt money system forced on world only creates new 'money' by creating another loan but they never create enough with these loans to cover the interest so bankruptcy and foreclosure is built in which causes hard economic and culture stress which fosters criminals to have nothing to look forward to, so get it while they can. Seems about 1/3 the people are trying to help and avoid hurting, while another 3rd are out to take advantage of others with the remaining 1/3 switching sides as opportunity arises. The scale and source of funds and influence that pushed us past point of no return ALWAYS can be traced DIRECTLY back to the people with most stolen power. Don''t matter a whitworth to believe my summary or not as its long been out of the peoples control by legal means and ThePowersThatBe made sure of that. Stop now or be as depressed attitude as me for decades thinking ahead.

1,100 tons of tungsten, provided by the U.S. during the war, were particularly valuable.

or was it 50.000 tons ? this was how they got the uppity krauts to think they were ' advanced ' . prlininary monopoly on Tungsten . Tecnological supremacy - the Nazi Grand Prix cars etc .
Knowing theyd overstep the boudaries of decency .

Some of the ' Targeted ' bikers ? ? ( without motorcycles many ) are amougst others involved in the lower forms of sleaze , degeneracy & depravity . Most of it legal & a ' tourist attraction ' . :?

We haven't had rights even back as far as 1788. The current idiocy is simply a rehash of the old system which doesn't change much. In Queensland there are even moves afoot to reintroduce the Summary Offences Act - I don't know why - might be to make locking people up a bit easier or less messy, however they can always use Howard's anti-terrorism laws as an excuse if all else fails. The simple fact is if they want you, they can get you.
