The North did not declare war on the South they resisted it but got drafted by the Federal Gov't. A biggie always left out was how Federal Gov't allowed Northern ships to attack southern ships and sell crews into slavery in the Carabean and beyond for many years before south said enough.

Seems these outlaw bikies haven't taken the hint as another one just got busted with a big haul of drugs and a stach of fire arms, it just give the Goverment more amunition to keep the attack on so called bikies.

I saw a bikie the other day wearing his club colours, a very brave man, when I seen him I backed off on the throttle so I didn't get classed as a associate to him and shore enough he got pulled up the cop car went screaming past me to catch up to him, just over 40 minutes later I was riding in the other direction and there he was still on the side of the road but now with 3 cop cars around him, 6 coppers and they were all over his bike.

Where I live there are a lot of Harley riders, including a few of my mates, but it amazes me how loud some of these bikes are, they just ask for trouble and of course they just love to be heard, high reving them in a build up area, I hate it as all it does is draw the law down hard in my back yard.

There is one Harley rider that lives just around the corner from my place, you can set your time by him in the morning and the same time every afternoon, I live in the first house in the street and he makes such a loud noise and flies into my street and this has been happening for the last 2 years but just of late he has been taking it slowly and his pipes are a bit quiter, so I say hes been done, I have lived here for all my life I don't need this shit, i just want to enjoy riding my bike and what I have always said to my mates, don't shit in your own backyard.

About 6 months ago I was halfway towards Melbourne from Benalla. Stopped off for coffee at the road house. My wife was driving, and as we went to leave, about two dozen patch gang members rode in and parked. My wife was backing the car out towards one of their Harleys, and the owner was getting a bit excited. I thought 'here we go again' - the last time we almost ended up belting some cheeky Italian in Rome. Then I could see myself trying to escape from the Carabinieri with no means of communication. This time I could see one of these poor innocents being savaged by a small but ferocious lady, I' d probably have had to get involved. Bikie gangs are always good for a laugh. There are two where I live, one is straight, the other has friends in the police force and all it's members are in business in a big way. For the last 5 years the police integrity branch has been chasing around trying to prosecute certain individuals without success. It is all bullshit. I don't have much interest in any of it.

I've often wondered why Harleys sound more like farm tractors than Brough Superiors or Vincents. Must be total lack of overlap in the cam timings ?

You forgot the every day motorcyclist,who pays their taxes (around $1700 pw for me) has never been hassled by the 'cops and goes about their life drama free.

The law in Australia is usually 'one size fits all'. There is an obvious problem with bikie gangs and it extends to police and politicians and what you call 'the mob'. What we have now is 'keeping up appearances' - treat the symptom and not the cause. What it means is that theoretically if our local MX oriented club ran a social outing with road bikes, we could come under scrutiny - it is never going to happen. And anyway certain patch gangs will always retain a level of immunity - it is all political bullshit.

The way to go when being pulled by the cops for a road side check,is it to park the bike up and let them do their buisness let them finnish,but then ou take your camera phone and go around their vehicle very carefully inspect their vehicles ,but does help to know the traffic vehicles law.
I did this on a very busy bike meet where there was quite a police presence,guess what? found one van with near bald tyre and two cracked lamp lens, I asked who the drivers were and there was a lot of feet shuffling and staring at their feet but eventually with others filming they had to own up,Wow the reaction from the chief constable apology was great,Oh by the way I sold that bike very soon after.[Oh the bike meet was for vintage classic bikes,hardly a Harley spectacular.]
