I guess we'll need to do a few test start attempts with fuse or batt disconnected to know what is possible with an EI ign.

When I had a Boyer mk3 it would start on just the capacitor with a good kick. Haven't tried it with the Tri-spark.
There is a lot of good info in the Rider's Manual that is not covered in the shop manual. It is about how to own and use a Norton - not just working on it. "After break-in, maximum performance may be sought whenever desired". When I was 21 this did it for me.
