My neodymium magnets were too strong in my JH magneto and it caused missing at high RPM. I went all the way to two 630 volt 470 nF capacitors which ran clean at high RPM but then it became a little hard to start. So I went to just one 630 volt 470 nF capacitor and now everything is happy. It starts easily and still revvs clean over 7000RPM. I tried just one 330 capacitor and with my mag it still missed (although 330 works OK for some other JH mags). Sometimes you just have to experiment till you get there.

Connectors are solder to the wires and the coated with epoxy to prevent breakage.

Nice! But be careful, you need impulse proof Capacitors, otherwise they possibly will not last. And self healing would be good, you need X2 or Y2 spec’d capacitors I think. Then the optimum value could change, if yoy have a “faster” cap ( higher dV/dt rating) then the optimum capacity might be smaller again. Fun things those magneto’s, had a fairbank morse magneto now working on a Lucas SR2 solution. Every now and then thinking about building a magneto testbench.
