Until lunchtime today Ashley, I only had one bike too, my Fastback. Today proved to be a VERY expensive lunch. And now they are arriving from everywhere. Must be something to do with the Blues smashing the Maroons. :)

Phil
ps happy birthday to your daughter.

I could never understand what those guys were doing on the race track.
Your home life would have to be pretty terrible to want to do this.
Absolute lunacy!!

Ashley,
Buddy, the new arrival.

Nice bikes

Thanks Graeme. John who I bought the Roadster from is one of the nicest guys I've ever met and I'm sure our friendship will be a lasting one. The true spirit of motorcyclists. A common interest that keeps us all together.

This is something like what I want to create from the Roadster, but candy apple red will not be changed.

Today was the shortest day of the year. Yahoooooo, they now get longer, albeit oh so slowly. Today in the Highlands was so glorious and sunny, I've ridden around all day with a T Shirt only on, beneath my leather jacket. Even tonight.

Phil the new bike looks great and looks great beside your other Norton, I am sitting here now in shorts and a light flanel shirt (9 pm), not having a beer today but up early tomorrow morning to meet up with my old ridding buddies, pick up my first mate at 6:30 am then a run up the highway to meet the rest of the gang at the Ettmota Pub (think that how you spell it) then head west on some great riding roads, no plans where we will end up but will be stopping to have some breaky somewhere in them hills, but there is a cold front on its ways so the night temps will drop in the next day or so with any luck.

Can never remember the name, nor spelling. Been past it many times but never stopped in. Always looks like it's going to fall down to me. Speaking of pubs, my buying the sidecar unit has got around and everybody seems a bit hostile. How weird??? Plenty of other places to have a beer. I feel the chilly winds of jealousy creeping to the surface all over again.

Yes the Roadster is a beauty. Some aspects about it are even better than the Fastback. The isolastics are exceptional with no tingles at any rpm at all. Smoothest I've ever felt. Bean cans restrictive (though note is quite nice and rounded), she rides beautifully.

Temperature?? Well I'm sitting here in undies at 2245 hrs. But then, I do have central heating. Mornings are getting down <7C with a lot colder to come. No rain in sight, beautiful riding weather and plenty of it happening.

Got out on the highway to pick up my first mate at 6:30am and the fog is like pea soup, left my mates place at 7am for the run up the highway to the pub to meet the others but the fog lifed about half way there then we turned west at 8am and never seen another highway, just all country and mountain roads, what a great day we rode all day except for stopping for breaky at 10:30 am, got home at 4pm and over 550ks from the ride, all up a great day out and 3 of my friends I have been riding with for over 39 years now, life is great and can't ask for better.

Well 1 month into our winter and it has started to hit us, the night and early morning temps has got down to 5c for the last few days and just 30 miles away at Ipswich it has dropped below -1c, a lot of you members mite not think this is cold but to us Queenslanders its cold, but thank goodness our day temps are still in the 20s with blue clear skies and no rain abouts, just great for riding, got to get a new chain for the Norton so will be out on the Thruxton today, but the good thing about our winters we can still ride and you don't get sun stroke.

Much the same night temps here Ashley. But not up to 20's in the daytime. Ice all over the car this morning as it lives outside, having been chucked out of the carport by Nortons and sidecar. Only so much room in there, a priority thing. Beautiful days for motorcycling but with a huge bin in front of the gates, associated with the bathroom renovation, unfortunately the bikes are locked in for the moment. Less than two months till Spring now, and we are still getting beautiful motorcycling weather like this.
