Snow, tires and riding in winter

some pictures stolen from the web:
Some more parts I had not seen before : https://simplysidecars.co.uk/fittingguide.html generally clamp type fitment is frown upon because they can move.
English version of riding instructions for if you go with left hand car : https://simplysidecars.co.uk/ridingtips.html
some reading https://sidecar.com/tech-reference/ important stuff like keeping weight inside the triangle formed by the three wheels and not to have two people on the bike and no or light load in the sidecar. More likely to tip left on a right hand turn.

Have some limited experience as passenger on racing outfits. With LH chair, you can go way faster RH turns than to the left. Though with a heavy sidecar and load, things might be different.
Also think that a steering damper is beneficial. One problem with winter riding is only one wheel traction. Except URAL and Djnepr bikes with 2 wheel drive.

This looks to be an earlier one of the type that I am building that I linked my thread to earlier in this thread. It comes with more attachment equipment. It is enough to get you started. It even has the wheel tucked under the fender better than the one I have.

Go crazy.

Wow! There's a use for my two Avon New Gripsters that hang on a saddle rack in the tack room. But clearly, there's a lot more that goes into ice tires than just screwing metal roofing screws into a knobby. I remember pictures of ice racing where the front tires had a cage out in front to protect anyone or dog or ice-fishing hut.

Here it hasn't been above 15deg F for over a week. Now we just need somebody to plow the lake so the snow won't insulate the ice. I haven't been up to see if there are ice huts out yet but there will be. Winter came early this year.
