Yes indeed great weather.
I bet you are a Mt Glorious and Mt Mee bloke.
I love that ride.
However the back down hill side of Mt Glorious can get a bit shaded and the leaf litter can bring you un stuck.
I managed to high side a few years back when I over cooked it, the front brakes were doing fine until I hit the leaf litter.
That was OK it just laid down but when it went through the leaf litter the front wheel bit again, and the rest is history.
High side with the bike following me down the road in a flash.

But it was on a Yamaha not the trusty Norton.

Cheers and happy riding

The Norton does like the cold though
Just got back from an inland tour at high altitude and the colder it got the better it liked it
As if it found another gear

Good point - cold, damp air gives mores horse power as it's got more oxygen which requires more fuel therefore more BHP. Hot weather's bad for performance. :D

nah ya got that wrong. It s the Nitrogen in the air that there is more of, and when ya burn petrol, the extra nitrogen gives the bigger push. That what I was told at mechanics school.

its just started our rainy season here in the north of "Godzone". Not cold though . Not so good in the dark with my eyesight. Not so good on the polished alloy either. I'll maybe clean it in summer again. Maybe

Sorry guys I just like to rub it in, we get very hot summers here and sometimes to hot to ride comfortable, the lowest it will get here in Queensland will be about 6c at night and our coolest days about 15c, I have never seen or experance snow and would hurt me to not be able to ride my bikes through winter because of snow and ice, I do feel for you guys that have to suffer very cold winters.

Ashley
Come down to the Southern Highlands for July Christmas. It snows here (occasionally), black ice early morning and rain and sludge on others. Got a spare bed if you want or the Mitto has cheap rooms. I wouldn't ride your Norton down though, you might spend your week no further south than Ballina, getting a re build. Winter is not the best for riding here. I tried it once on the coldest day possible in my open face helmet. My face went numb in no time. Summers are fantastic riding weather. But there is something special about having four seasons. Queensland is a terrible place with a footy team who only wins by cheating. But not this Wednesday night busto!! During State Of Origin, my brother and I refuse to talk to each other, sometimes even for a month afterwards, even though we both have Commandos!

Go the Mighty Blues!!!

Anyone want to try and ride in this winter weather? I put up with this every year, just not sure why.

I would like to experance snow, it be one of the things to experance once in a life time for me, don't know about riding in it but, I have ridden in some very cold wheather down south, it does get real cold in some parts of Queensland (south/west corner of the state) it does get a white sleet and melts as the sun rises over the ranges.

Phil we take pride in our QLD footy team, its somethink that the blues don't understand and no need to cheat, if you's would have lost the last game the blues be wingging about the refs like you have done so for how many years, but all good fun, we have to let your guys win sometimes or all you NSW surporters will flood the state from all your tears from crying fowl.

Change of plan. Will your Commando get you here in one day?
Wander into the Mitto on Wednesday night wearing a maroon jumper.
Send your will first to my solicitor advising me as executor.
I've never owned a blue Commando.
But will on Thursday morning.

Skiing and snowmobiles is why. Not ice fishing...

As my 72 project is all but finished my "inner self" requires job satisfaction.. My friend gave me this POS evaporative air conditioner so to combat (hahaha) the 40c+ temps in the shed in summer i will refurbish it and fit it to the shed roof.. I just love making functional products from POS..

Its pissing down over here right now. Not cold yet though. Apparently the weather man says it will be fine on Friday. Yippee my day off, and off I'll be. F... you know where you can stick that white stuff. We don't have any bears over here at all, let alone the polar ones. Its funny, I don't like riding in the rain but 2 rallies ago it pissed down nearly all the way to my cousins place. next day had trouble starting, but it was the poor connections at the boyer sensor and not water as I had first thought.

No, a woman. Same ol story. Not going yet, close. Had hand surgery last month, so that has put me back a bit. Still doing the little things, but couldnt ride if I wanted to. I couldnt pull the clutch.

Send my your address....I'll mail ya some next time we get it

Hah, sweet. I grew up in MN, but I am sure the Kiwis up here in AKL would react to a meter of snow the same way as Floridians might.... That would be a sight, but I would stay home for that one.

Can't even give the stuff away......damn
That hand looks nasty man, what did you do?
