Nor do I at 70 … doesn’t stop me from wanting one though..LOLI just don't see the practicality (at my age)
Pretty sure, that, among other currently offered 2-stroke street legal dirt bikes, that Maico is more than DOUBLE the engine displacement.meh... just another "tail happy" 10' tall water-cooled dirt clone. Nothing whatsoever to distinguish it from 83 other brands of virtually identical hypertoys.
Beat me to it..except for the displacement and the fact that it can be registered..
Direct injection makes it all possible.A 700cc two stroke would be the cats pajamas, but I wonder where they would be street legal. There are companies that make lighting kits for converting dirt bikes to street bikes, but here in TX, you also need an "OHV decal" in order to get the conversion registered for the street.

I was mistaken, NLAI'm looking, but I don't see a license plate. I've got a plate on my 500 EXC, but it's OHV.
That's funny , I did the same to a Montessa Capra 125 , I had a stinga thingy jammed up the exhaust , I even rode it to the council office and got my road licence on it , I don't know what the cop on the motorcycle thought as he followed me around , but I got my licence , young and stupida very good friend of mine had a 400? Maico in South Africa. He put a set of battery bicycle lights, a brake light and a squeeze bulb horn and registered it as a road bike, with full knobby tyres. I recall the exhaust note, it was simply evil!
He eventually sold it to a bloke who was very new to motorcycles, in the middle of the Durban rainy season. I sometimes wonder if the new buyer survived the trip home.
That could be said about motorcycles in GENERAL, it depends on wantI just don't see the practicality (at my age)
Nice!. What state?
It doesn't have to be, but for me the nearest dirt park is a 2hr drive. With plates I can rip around the neighborhood. .If you can ride why does it have to be legal!!!!! Legal only means they'll be waiting when you get home!
Being plated allows exploring like a dirt-only bike can't. HUGE difference. It doesn't have to be, but for me the nearest dirt park is a 2hr drive. With plates I can rip around the neighborhood. .
Have you ever, RIDDEN a big 2-stroke dirt bike? YZ/IT465/490, CR500 etc?For many years, my brother raced sidecars on speedway using methano fuelled H1 and H2 Kawasaki two strokes. The 750 was a waste of space. The 500cc bike was enough to win any race. The 750cc bike was simply too dangerous. When it came on song, it would jump a very long way. Everybody wants more power, but most cannot use it. Better with something which is slower, but smooth.
