Not classic, but the company is.
Anyone else interested in this rip-snorting monster?

A Maico 400 could kill you pretty easily.

A Maico 700?????!!!!!!!!!
My high school classmate was killed riding a Honda TL125.

Like most deadly things, used responsibly, and pointed in a safe direction when discharging it, sounds like it could be most entertaining!

Love it! My MX friend had a 501 Maico back in the early 70's. He got hurt in the first moto and let me ride his 501 in the next moto. I'll never forget the experience, I passed a lot of guys by powering out of turns in 2nd gear. I believe it only had 3 speeds, I never got out of 2nd. A very good handling bike with power to spare. One of my motorcycle experiences I'll never forget.

I had a 91 KX 500 water cooled, upside down shocks , it was so awesome, if you could ride pretty good, it made you into a better rider , suspension was so good , nice big two stroke sound , 110mph on the beach .

How many motorcyclists really know how to use s 500cc Manx Norton ? I suggest a lot of people are kidding themselves. A 1963 650cc Triumph Boneviille is fast enough to see-off most road riders at the first corner.

I kid myself every day. I kind of enjoy it.
It's far more fun than taking myself too seriously.
For a long time, I COULDN'T have fast bikes.
Too much is just enough.

a very good friend of mine had a 400? Maico in South Africa. He put a set of battery bicycle lights, a brake light and a squeeze bulb horn and registered it as a road bike, with full knobby tyres. I recall the exhaust note, it was simply evil!
He eventually sold it to a bloke who was very new to motorcycles, in the middle of the Durban rainy season. I sometimes wonder if the new buyer survived the trip home.

I’ve been itching for a dirt bike - been a long ,long time since my last one . I want a two stroke . In our area now they must be registered. It would seem that this Maico is one of few if not the only two stroke that can be registered. Too much power for my skill set ?
Likely so .
My last dirt bike was in the mid seventies- 8 speed Husky 360 Sportsman . Loved to ride the fire trails throughout the South Jersey woods on it and this Maico might be just the thing for that .
Too much money for my bank account ?
Likely so again - anyone know what they are going for ?
I want one ….

In answer to my own question above I just found a price of over 17k GBP so $ 20k USD if you can find one ? Yikes !
Unless the lottery ticket thing pays off that takes me out of the queue…
