Could you tell me what mufflers you went with, where you acquired them, and if you are pleased with the fit? I have two but one has a baffle and the other had been replaced without. Cheers! Dennis
Same here! I installed a pair of Dunstalls in the late Seventies when my original Interstate mufflers rotted out. I like the Dunstalls, but it would be nice to get another set of original-looking mufflers. 'Nice looking bike!

The mufflers are the stock Interstate mufflers. Roadsters had the "per shooter" types and Interstates came stock with these ones. I believe i got them from British Cycle Supply, up north here in Nova Scotia, Canada. The part number from their catalogue is 711-Z646 and can be found here http://www.britcycle.com/Download/download.htm

I hope that helps. I've always liked the original exhaust system on Interstates compared to the roadster style on an interstate.

Been Wonderin what you were up to .

Ya, it's been a while! I've left town to play hockey during the winters so my time on the bike is reserved for summer only. Both my dad and I got busy over the summer and the shop is about 20 minutes from our house so it makes it hard to get work done on the bike every day. Ill be home in April, ready to finally get the bike going!

Good news for anyone that has followed my rebuild at all. The bike is complete!! Its been 4 years and a lot of hours and my Dad and I are extremely happy with how its turned out. Starting this project at age 15, i had no idea what i was getting into. Now with a much more broad knowledge about bikes, I can see lots more rebuilds in my future. It was a great project to keep me busy with all my down time, and now riding something that you've built from the ground up is pretty cool too. Here are a few pictures of the bike now, we've put about 500 miles on it so far, with lots more to go. I might take some videos of it running sometime soon and some more info on what work we did to it since my last update. And lastly, I've got to thank everyone on the forum for all their help, although i haven't been around much lately, everyone's knowledge here really helped get me started when i didn't know a thing about the bike, without you're help I would have been lost far too often. So, thanks a lot!!

Congrates on completing such a complex project and making lasting memories getting along with your father. Kind of hurts to look at close it so perfect and bright. I think the Interstate Combat is the cream of the Commando crop.

Congratulations on a beautiful job done! Now for some shake down time in the saddle. Don't get discouraged if a few problems crop up. There are always a few things to sort out, but once you get a couple of thousand miles on it that should really taper off. So glad to see a younger guy with interest in owning one of these. I have lots of younger guys and girls come up and admire my bike, but I'm guessing time and available funds are a problem. They were for me at that age.
