What's happening at Norton? Sale to TVS, massive investment, new bikes...

The reason I’m ‘negative’ is I can’t give them my money !

I was very interested in a 961 but was put off by the combination of a lack of info regarding the changes and stories of the old problems still being there. Perhaps I’m over sensitive, but ’perception is reality’ at times like this.

I had a Superlight on order but they dropped it. I would order one again tomorrow if they offered it.

Currently I’m looking at Triumph scramblers as a kind of ‘knock around’ bike. An Atlas would be PERFECT but alas, they dropped it.

And my main gripe is that I don’t think I’m very unusual. I think that one or the other of my interests above apply to a lot of potential buyers. I think Norton are missing out on HUGE sales and revenue.

And no, before anyone suggests it, I’m not the least bit interested in the purchase of a V4SV or CR. Which again, I don’t think makes me very unusual.

All IMHO only.

I too have shifted my interest towards scramblers and ADV bikes. In the past I didn’t care for the scramblers and ADV bikes, but since buying the Ducati Desert sled, I love it.
Fairly light weight when compared to others in the same category, air cooled, relatively cheap.

I had my eyes on those triumph scramblers for a couple years, especially the XE.
In my opinion, Triumph knows what its customers want and they know how to deliver.

I think anyone who owns one or more street only bikes, needs at least one scrambler or ADV bike.

It’s a lot of fun riding on the road, but way more fun riding on the road and seeing some where off road that can take you there with more excitement.

This is me just the other day. I must say, I had a blast!
He never caught me.

Same here. After years of disdain for ADV riders I finally bought a CCM GP450 a couple of years ago.

The engine in it was horrid, like a racing 2 stroke. But riding something with a comfy upright riding position, good road presence, great (seemingly endless) suspension travel and definitely endless ground clearance was a revelation.

After the CCM I had an Africa Twin, and then a Multistrada, but frankly they were too well equipped for my needs, I do short rides at weekends for fun, cross continent blasts and trails are few and far between for me. So the Triumph comes to the top of my list a lot. Would be nicer if it had a few KG less and a few BHP more perhaps, but I do like it.

BTW I thought you had posted a picture of me there, until I realised he’s not wearing glasses 🤓

The ducati desert x rally checks all the boxes for me. Hopefully I’m not wrong about that when it arrives.

Rambo 😂

I feel your pain.

My 961’s have become lookers and not riders.
That's a shame really , I have been riding mine and its always noticed wherever I go. I am still convinced that they can be ridden for many thousands of miles with reliability if giving the chance. Are they all trouble free ? No , but they could have been ! But , the main point I am trying to make is the bike is fun to ride and interesting . I have now been able to make my 961 fit me and my riding needs . I can even cover long distances with it and at higher speeds (70mph) on the interstate , and with 4 gallons gas accessable there is nothing holding me back now. I wish all 961 owners could be where I am with this machine now. What is so frustrating is that this really could have been a capable and popular machine .

Yes, exactly. If you have one, just go ride it. I got in about 80 miles on the last warm day this Sunday. Stopped a few times, had a smoke and coffee, listened to the crackling pipes cooling down in the night, and had an all around great time.
Regardless of the shared frustration. Just make the best of it. A life´s motto.

That is so true, it's a simple design.
If it had been given proper development, and the factory had employed proper QC/QA, the 961 would be a success story in motorcycledom, not a laughingstock.

For me Tony, I enjoy my Domi more, and unfortunately, you can not buy any of the Domi only parts.
If I were to drop it or get hit, I’ll never find Domi only replacement parts.

As far as my Commando, it’s much the same.
Can’t buy replacement body parts, Norton refuses to sell any spares that I’ve been asking for, for 3 years.

The Norton excitement ended for me over a year ago.
For me, this is because of the handling of the new Norton leadership.
Reaching out to Norton on Facebook or Instagram, they constantly avoid providing any information or updates.
When asked legitimate questions, they avoid them or respond with an emoji.

From here out, I’ll spend my money on products that value their customers and are there when needed. We don’t have that here in the states.

Here at TVS Norton we take (PR) Public Relations seriously!
In doing so, it is our (PR) Primary Responsibility to provide our customers with a satisfying (PR) Progress Report.

We listen to our customers (PR) Purchase Requests and (PR) Performance Reviews.
From here we take your negative feedback and send them to our (PR) Process Re-engineering team.

Our state of the art (PR) Process Re-engineering team located in sunny (PR) Peoples Republic of China take your feedback seriously and (PR) PeRsonally.
So much so it makes their (PR) Pulse Rate dangerously high.

But rest assured, we are here to make sure that you, our few and far between customers are satisfied with your TVS Norton.

Our (PR) Process Re-engineering team realized that the (PR & PR) Power Rating and Performance Ratings were below the industry standards, so to better satisfy our customers needs, we provide a (PR) Price Resolution.

Our (PR) Price Resolution is a (PR) Public Relations standard that allows us to offer you a low ball offer on your trade in value, what better way to get you to swing a leg over a brand new TVS Norton?

This offer will not last long. Rumor has it, we only have enough spare parts to build 250 961 Commandos. So please don’t delay.
Contact our (PR) Public Relations team today and apply for a (PR) Purchase Request!

All other orders may be granted a (PR) Purchase Refund.

* Side note
At this time we offer no spare (PR) Parts Replacement. Don’t ask, Don’t Tell.
