What is your Commando becoming ?

I notice in one video, the bikes all seem to progress toward a common theme - Perhaps function dictates form, however a good bike makes a good rider, the reverse is more difficult.

Looks mean, Gene. Badass!
It might look slightly better if the tank was extended forward about 75mm and was slimmer. But I have been indoctrinated.
The exhaust system needs to be different, but I don't know in which way. Otherwise it looks great.

The height at the rear adjusts the rake on the steering head. Shorter shocks increase the trail and move the steering more towards over-steer, which gives the rider more confidence. However there is also a down-side. Long shocks with softer springs or more angle, might be better. On one bike I did both.

My Commando is in the process of becoming mine. I have been riding it more and thinking of it as Debby's bike less. I have been more willing to make changes that suit my taste and my riding style. It's not a memorial to my friend. It's more the bikes history and its own story. Now I have to write my story on those pages.

Recently I was thinking of Jim Bush's comments about judging the bikes at the Norton Rally in Wynthrop Washington. He said from a concours perspective, almost none of the entries were eligible because they were modified to some degree.

Personally I wouldn't want a bone stock Commando. Every change on my bike was made by me for a particular reason: looks, reliability, performance, to solve a problem, because I could, etc, etc.

Back to the original question, "What is your Commando becoming?"
I decided that my Commando is becoming a reflection of my personality, because I built it the way I want it.
