Hi

I have recently started to restore my 1969 750 Commando and I hae tried to start it but it is kicking back through the kick start. I have followed the workshop manual instructions on how to reset it all but to no avail. Does anybody have any suggestions as I have been on this for 3 weeks!! All i've got is a sore leg!

Thanks for any help

Steve

Need more info, IE, points? Battery good? When was it last running? Anything else you may care to share, like pictures.

BTW welcome.

Welcome Steve,

Sounds like the ignition timing is too far advanced (or the AAU isn't fully retarding fo some reason)?

As it is a '69 model, is it the type with points and AAU in a housing behind the cylinder barrels (20M3 model), or does it have points/AAU on the end of the camshaft (20M3S)?

Or has electronic ignition been fitted in place of either points type? If so, which type of electronic ignition is it?
