As I have a single mikuni I use a tee . I've put together the lines using 12mm od silicone tubing. 8years? Of petrol had turned the normal pipe into concrete !! I've used it on mopeds, lawnmowers and strimmers successfully but never on bigger machines. Any drawbacks , the dreaded ethanol etc ?? Roy.

I use braided stainless fuel line . Maybe you can source this for the Mikuni ? Lasts forever . Well maybe until I die ?

Have you found a way to cut it cleanly ? Does it require crimp fittings and tools ? Roy.

A possibility? I would have to find out if it is suitable for the mikuni inlet which is noticeably larger than an amal or fuel tap spigot. Also teepiece ? Roy.

Silicone was specifically NOT recommended for fuel (gas or diesel) in the marine world. In fact, it would be noted as a safety issue if found being used for that purpose in a marine survey. That was as of around 2017 - last I was involved in that. Perhaps there is some newer formulation that is OK but unless there is a DOT or other appropriate approval for using the specific silicone hose with gasoline, I wouldn't use it.

Been there, did that 46 yrs ago. found that silicone pipe swelled and rotted used with petrol on my first motorbike

I use this stuff from Helix, it’s available in various lengths, diameters, colours, etc…

Silicone petrol pipe.

I git some clear hose and after installing it I felt the walls were too thin for all the vibration so I went to rubber fue hose that has very thick walls

For fuel lines you can’t beat Teflon tubing as it isn’t affected by pretty much everything including gasoline and ethanol.

Indeed. I recently covered a large cork in silicone sheet for the petrol tank fill hole while liner strip liquid was in it! It had occurred to me that whatever glue holds the pieces of cork together would be dissolved along with the liner. I was unaware of Teflon tubing though. Thanks, I'll look into it, Roy.

Which material is used in the fuel line that AN sells? I had ticked it for my next order, but this thread made me hesitant.

I have their black fuel line. Don't know what it is made from, but I've been using it for 3 years, 5,500 miles, with mainly 5% ethanol, occasionally 10%, without any sign of deterioration.
