Positive Ground with Negative Ground Lights (2017)

I bought an 1157 type LED that was supposed to work with either polarity. Tail or running light worked as expected, but when brake applied, the brake light did not get any brighter. Solution was to insert a 27 Ohm, half Watt resistor in series in the running light circuit, then all was well.

Is it possible to just swap the wires on the tail light so you can use a negative ground LED bulb on a positive ground bike?

Logic says the electrons won't know the difference. Experiences says to ask people smarter than me.

Yes I am planning to do just that! the trick is to buy the Led that you can resolder the wires and terminals.

Or feed the LED through a bridge rectifier

Random one off ebay, you need to check it can handle 12V and the LED ampage.

Bike gets connect to the + and - terminals, LED to the AC any way round you like.
