Norton Tank / Paint Quality

I guess the decal can be a source of issues on paint overs.
Its adhesive backing can dry out and come loose after time under the clear coat.
A wet applied vinyl transfer needs the water squeegeed out from under it to get bumps out.
Also, vinyl sadly like other things, shrinks with age.

All true, that's why I spray them on, this is all paint.

Norton Tank / Paint Quality

I’m seriously thinking about an Ali tank, and these pictures are convincing me. Looks amazing.

So the pump is a straight swap over, but in the plastic tanks the pump sits in a cream coloured housing. Is that housing or a similar one required on the Ali tank?

Also, what about the 2 drain pipes, are they not needed on the ali tank?

Thanks for help. Very new to norton (this week) so i’ll make an intro.

You can swap the pump with no further adjustments.
In the aluminum tank you’ll only need one vent pipe. Take care to not brake the brass screw, but also easy swap...

I think the ‘cream coloured housing’ that you refer to here is actually the plastic fuel tank itself.
The pump assembly (a surpringly complex affair IMHO) bolts straight into the alloy tank.
