If I were to go to the 3thou flame ring would I need mods to avoid valve/piston clash?

There is still enough squish band clearance for the .003" JSmotorsport thin head gasket ring on both stock 750 and 850 pistons with a stock type unmilled head. But if you have JSM high compression pistons there is not enough room (unless you cut the piston tops for squish clearance and even higher C.R.). There should also be enough valve to piston clearance with the .003" head gasket unless you have a very high lift cam but I would still check with clay every time you make a modification.

For example: The combat had a .040" milled head with high lift 2S cam and everything still cleared.

850 pistons without valve pockets should be checked.

Alright let the opinions roll...
Is it a wise move to go to the 3thou flame ring and copper wire set up? I'm prepared to trim push rods 35-40thou if required BUT THAT IS IT!!
I HAVE AN ABSOLUTE STOCK SETUP and do not want to do anything other than trim pushrods to facilitate valve geometry.
Is the flame ring + contact cement going to be a reliable LONG TERM option to lift compression to aprox 9:1?
