Dominator SS - Who is getting one State Side?

If anybody is curious, the add includes a reference to further details available from Matt at South Bay Norton. Matt Capri/South Bay Norton is the new U.S. distributor for Norton, so he should be able to explain.

The reference to sale outside California could have to do with this model not being approved for sale by the California Air Resources Board?

May be that somebody bought this to speculate?
 
What do you guys think about the price? I thought it was going to be north of $40K. At $30K I'm warming up to the idea.
 
Had to back for a second look. I didn't see the SBN for seller but did click on the sellers other items, where the Dommie didn't come up. Just a bunch of clothes. Odd combination.

For 27K I would seriously look at selling my 961 for the funds and garage space. :D

I know for fact it is not being sold by Matt at SBN. It is true there are two in the US and both are already taken. I know this because I am one of two buyers. Both are sold by Matt and pictures do look like his shop. This is interesting....
 
The bike was relisted and there was a second phone # added. There was no reply to the Matt# but Byron picked up on the second phone#. Bike is legit and being sold from South Bay Norton. They cant sell it in Cali as its not certified there but rest of country is ok. He's piggy backing on his nieces EBay A/C hence the clothing etc. Give him a call if your interested. He also said he can get more.
 
The Dominator SS is a limited edition model which is not EPA or CARB approved for operaion in the United States. It is available for to collectors who do not intend to operate the vehicle on the street or for track usage only

Are you the seller?
 
Yes, South Bay Norton is the U.S. distributor for Norton Motorcycles. As much as we would like to sell the Dominator SS here in the states, we cannot. The aluminium tank and free-flow exhaust is not EPA and for sure CARB approved. If you go to the Norton web site, however, you will note that both the tank and special megaphone pipe are offered as after market accessories from Norton (hint). The other thing to be aware of is that the Dominator SS is a limited edition only 200 will be built, 1-50 for the UK and 51-200 for the rest of the world. Norton has indicated that most of the numbers are all ready reserved so if you are a collector and want a numbered Dominator SS you should probably act soon. Your other option is to get a Domonator and go the after market approach.
 
Ok thanks for chiming in byjefsm. My fault for misleading some as I wasn't paying attention to earlier model classifications.
