The trick to sorting out if a misfire is carb or ignition is to mark the throttle, 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4. Then go for a ride and note the throttle position/revs when the misfire happens. If the misfire happens at the same throttle opening regardless of revs then its carb, at the same revs but at different throttle openings means ignition. Not hard and fast but 80% reliable.
