with the cable on the throttle valve
Amal 932: idle 2000 rpm, not less! (2014)

new cable is about 3 - 4 mm too short
not a real problem...but I don't understend...I supposed were all the same but maybe I'm wrong
what is certain is that are not working with my original Amal 932

anyone could explaine?

No explanation but a couple of years back I bought a set of cables where the inner was so short I couldnt actually fit the slide on.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the brand or who I got them from.

So your not alone by any means

Is the cable located properly in the junction box under the tank.
I had the outer sheath of the cable hang up on the outside of the junction box one time after a carb overhaul. Just a long shot worth checking.

I haven’t had problems with cables supplied by Venhill - so far at least. Their website shows the sleeve and cable lengths, so you could compare with the ones you have on your lovely bike.

Is the junction box a standard amal type 019824
or is it a RGM SS/brass one? It was reported to me the insertion length is different and causes this kind of problem. I do not have one so can not really verify this.
