1975 Commando 850 restoration

Installed my stainless rocker feed oil lines today. Not too sure on the routing though. Thoughts, comments or concerns? I'm going to run a single Mikuni if that would be a concern. Pics of your own would be cool. Thanks for the help and advice.

For twin Amals, I angle the banjo inwards and rotate it to be more like the original line, not sure if that works with a single Mikuni...

...the crossover line I like to keep as short as possible and run it behind the spring which not only keeps it away from the spring but also clear of the coils and wiring which you haven't fitted yet, but that's just a suggestion.
The most important thing is to ensure the line (even if plastic coated) cannot rub against the tunnel corners of the fuel tank.

Don't know if the E-start will limit your usable length but my oil line swings around the left side of the carb and crosses over the single boot of the 1 into 2 Mikuni manifold. Here is a not so great photo of what I mean.

Installed my carb manifold and upper and lower yokes. Looking more and more like a real motorcycle.

Got my forks, headlight ears with the six o-rings and clocks assembled today. Looking good!

Chain guard installed. Does it look correct?

The washer between the guard and the plate should go under the bolt head in my opinion, however, if doing so causes the shock to touch the chainguard then probably best left where it is.
Also, check the shocks are parallel to one another as the lower mounts on the standard Mk3 shocks were wider than the upper mounts, therefore, it may be necessary to space the lower shock mount away from the plate (with a washer) and which could prevent any shock-chainguard clash. See Mk3 manual, section F6, Fig. F14, but note that the width dimension for the lower mount ferrule tube (0.745" - 0.755") is wrong. Should be 0.942".

Cleaned up my rims and I am going to reuse. Does anyone have an affordable tire and supplier recommendation? Thanks in advance.

An update on my rebuild. Wrenching on the bike has come to a standstill due to the unbearable cold -20 F this weekend. I made a small workbench in my basement at my house and have been reworking parts in the relative warmth. I’ll be back wrenching on the bike in the unheated machine shed when the weather warms up. Until then removing my instruments will have to wait.
 
My excuse by the way is i ran out of money
