It doesn’t look like the CR ergos are any different to the SV. And the SV looks a bit, errr, designed for young folk…!

Still not sure about the CR styling personally…
 
Yeah, looks like the CR instrument panel is smack on top of the upper triple tree, so no room for handlebar fitments.
Ergos don't appear suitable to geezers either.
Guess we'll have to wait for the future V4H (Hooligan) model.

Heli Bars might work . Who knows , maybe some day even a seat you can take a trip with. Is that SS in the background in one of the photos ?
 
I’m sorry to say this to the older crowd, but if Norton is going to be a modern bike, the main crowd on this forum is going to be disappointed.
If your over 30s.

I personally like the looks and the position. I also like them going in the direction of modern performance.
Garner started Norton back up with a modem classic. Then started slowly getting into a modern line up.

TVS is starting Norton with a Modern new Norton aimed at performance. Where Garner left off. I think this is a smart decision on TVS.

I know I’ll get a beating for saying this, but.
I’m not bothered if they decide not to make the 961 anymore. If anyone wanted a 961 they had plenty of chances to get one within the last 6 or so years.

Crying about them not being made anymore is like the Harley guys crying about the old sportster no longer being available. If you wanted a old air cooled sportster, you had 50 years to get one or to buy a used one.

I will say, it would be great for TVS Norton to have spares and service available for the 961.

I finally decided not to go to the NEC next week and looking at the pictures confirm it. Mask wearing is optional and most people aren’t bothering apparently, also sitting on a bike that dozens have been on and touched everything without it being sanitised fills me with dread. I spent eighteen months shielding and must admit to some paranoia now with the new variant about. Pity really having worked at shows for over thirty years and looked forward to meeting old friends there and seeing the odd new bike and buying a few new bits. Will have to make do with the programme on Eurosport on Tuesday night.
 
You aren't alone. I had a regular check up with my Doctor recently. I asked if he had gone on holidays this year.
He answered that he had not and that he isn't comfortable staying in a hotel room anymore, vaccines and all.
Made me rethink some of my travel plans for next year. I was starting to feel like return to something approaching our fun old life could happen.
I think it's going to be very buttoned down again. Getting a bit dreary, isn't it?
Oh, well at least we are here and healthy.

Understand your view completely but to be fair to the NEC and exhibitors. Proof of vaccination and/or NHS Covid pass was mandatory for entrance, wrist bands given when proof provided, and the exhibitors had staff wiping down bikes as often as they could get to them. There was plently of space in the halls as visitor numbers were lower than I have experienced in previous years and it was fairly easy to maintain some personal space. I chose to wear a face covering and avoided the worst of the ‘crush’ areas like the enclosed eateries. I enjoyed the day and felt comfortable and ‘safe’ with the arrangements in place.
 
Pretty much like me Stuart. I’ll wear a mask, take my own hand sanitiser, avoid crowded spaces and standing close to people.

I believe that as I’m not (that I know of) in a vulnerable category, and being triple jabbed, that’s a perfectly acceptable balance.

I agree that they need to make these things for the young guns, goes with the territory really!

But they can ALSO stick some bars on for the old croaks.

Is the CR genius or misguided? No one else is doing it in that sector are they? So Norton have either stole the march the competition … or missed the mark…
