To all forum members: Please do not post anymore pictures of this nature. I am old and my heart can not take much more of this.

All to our own, if we all did the same things all the time it wouldn't be much fun, some mite not like what they see but there are a lot of bike builders out there with diffrent ideas and there is a place for Bobbers, choppers, crusers, caferacer etc etc, not all poeple want just a Commando.

Perhaps all forum members who aren't to keen on this style of bike could pool some funds and buy this bike, put us all out of our misery and share the Norton parts!!!
I'm in for $100!!!!
Regards Mike

I'm in. Let's call it "Save the Nortons". We could get an IRS charity permit and it could be tax deductable. If there is any money left over, let's get Swooshdave's tank painted yellow.

hehe by the reactions its right on target for its purpose built, to offend all & feel like king of the road doing it. I'm gathering ideas and this one has some good features I will remember. Another recoiling fact for yo'all to face is the only place this would be appreciated and welcomed would be a Harley gathering, our closest kissing cousins hardly anyone Norton acknowledges. I'd tidy up the exhaust shags though, by barbed wire spirals, rusted with tetanus risk of course. How about a tank with see though bullet holes too.

Steve, why dont we send it to you for crash testing with your roll cage so you can get on with MsPeel!!! I'm still in for the $100
Regards Mike

Maybe he didn't have a 'perfectly good Norton'! , maybe he had just the engine & gearbox to start with?
It's his bike, let him do what he wants, don't like the exhaust wrap though.

Of course, you are right, he has every right to do what he wants to with his property. I guess it just burns me that not only is he mutilating something I love, but asking $6500 for it. That's adding insult to injury.

How do you know he mutilated it?, as I said, he may only have started with an engine and gearbox.
As asking for $6500, why not?, some people will pay it why not ask?
A Moto Guzzi 1000s went in Uk for £8000 + 2 weeks ago, and normally they fetch about £3-4000, madness I know but theere you go!
Anyway he may want to put the money towards a standard Commando, if there are any about.

Well, we know of one that will never be a standard Commando ever again.

If it's the one in the picture one is referring to ?, well, somebody might see potential in the engine and gearbox and have a frame just waiting, you never know, one can but hope!

Good point rtb11548. I'll bet that bike has been ridden only to church by an eighty three year old great grandmother. Changed the oil each week herself.

Bad Idea, that would just encourage him to do it to another.

What's not to love? Feet forward crotch and arm pits open to the wind?
If Norton offered similar instead of the HyRyder they'd sold like hot cakes and Capt. America would sounded more even firing. At one time there were a lot more of these, I've heard the stories about them in this region and all said they took on everything in drag races being so light and spending a lot on engines, but all crashed in THE Gravel with spoiled egos taking on knobbie tired dirt bikes. I've most a Combat engine and tranny left over - another standard or cafe special ain't in my plans. Only need about $6000 more on current Peel to bullet proof here from me. Peel of course is more a low rider hip hop hay hauler to sneer at.
