What Did You Do With Your Commando Today?

Only things to not become hot on a Commando are mudguards, mirrors, clocks, clutch/brake levers.... perhaps a few other items also. This was an excellent query though if one is unfamiliar with the machine. I hope you smoke the asphalt on it and have more than ample fun.. Be safe.

Hey there, a thought for you guys. Has anyone replaced the power socket on the right hand side of the bike with a USB connector to charge your phone? I'm thinking of doing the same to keep my phone charged while I'm using it on GPS as I ride around back roads. Any suggestions on good kits?
 
No, that would reduce the versatility of the outlet. I have considered an adapter that plugs into the outlet and provides USB charging for my phone.

Here is what I bought:

I wired it into the ignition switch so that it is not powered all the time. The actual box is mounted to the handle bars.

I like to hide from my phone and an outing on the Norton is just the thing . It is charged and in my pocket but turned off.

I use mine as my GPS. Would prefer to go old school and use a map on a tank bag. But all the new tank bags of decent size and quality appear to be magnetic…. no good on an aluminum tank…
 
Today I went to Burk's Falls via Magnetawan and back, a nice 90 mile ride to finish the riding season for this bike as it is going to get wet and cool from now till the snow flies and this bike is going in the shop for a few touch ups to keep it A1 for next season. Tomorrow drain and examine fluids and "give it a good pat on the tank". I imagine you boys on the other side of the equator are just getting fired up,eh?
 
Today i thanked my bike for an effortless 367 km round trip ride yesterday from Kingston to Calabogie Ont. ... Wings , fries with gravy and a beverage at the Redneck Bistro makes a good half way point in any ride ..... Temps started out in the low 40's but by noon it was a very nice low 60's.
